Program participants are monitored to ensure their appearance at court dates, compliance with mandated programming, as well as referrals to community-based programming such as job training, drug treatment, and mental health counseling. Following legislative changes in New York State that curtail the use of cash bail and pre-trial detention, the Center has seen dramatic growth in the population served through Supervised Release. The Center runs SRP operating sites in Brooklyn and Staten Island, with several locations throughout.</span></p><p><span style=\"font-size:14px;\">SIJC seeks a Compliance Specialist for the borough’s Supervised Release Program (SRP) which provides supervision, case management, and social service connection to thousands of court-mandated participants each year. Reporting to the Compliance Manager, the Compliance Specialist will ensure adherence to compliance protocols and program policy, assist with creating and providing written and verbal case updates to court based staff and stakeholders. The Compliance Specialist will also work closely with the Director of Court Operations & Compliance, Data Analytics and Applied Research team (DAAR) and Compliance team to oversee and audit the accuracy of internal data and practices. Candidate must also enjoy working with a diverse population and be a team player.
