    "requisitionDescription": "<p data-pasted=\"true\">&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Summary of Position</strong></p><p>The Social Media intern produces content creation for TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, Facebook and X, collaborating with the newsroom and NewsdayTV.</p><p data-pasted=\"true\"><strong>The ideal intern&hellip;</strong></p><ul><li>&nbsp;Will be expected to help assist in the overall engagement and sourcing across all social platforms with an emphasis on growing our Instagram, YouTube, and TikTok pages</li><li>&nbsp;Must be proficient in content creation and video editing for a social-first, vertical video strategy to post on Reels, TikTok, and Shorts</li><li>&nbsp;Must be proficient in editing apps such as Canva, Adobe Express, Capcut, etc.</li><li>&nbsp;Helps with optimizing videos for Instagram, TikTok and YouTube with keyword research and platform search strategy</li><li>&nbsp;Lives and breathes social media and industry trends/able to adapt to the ever-changing algorithms</li><li>&nbsp;Community engagement with promoting content in Facebook groups, etc.&nbsp;</li><li>&nbsp;Must be comfortable being on camera and going out in the field for content creation</li></ul><p><strong>Essential Job Knowledge &amp; Skills</strong></p><ul><li>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in relevant field or aspiring to have one; newsroom experience is a huge plus</li><li>Expert user of Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, X and Facebook&nbsp;</li><li>Exceptionally strong headline writing</li><li>Knows how to engage with a local audience, such as through Facebook Groups, community groups, etc.</li><li>Must be comfortable and articulate on camera in both live and prepared settings</li><li>Sharp writing skills and solid copy-editing skills&nbsp;</li><li>Strong analytical skills to respond to data in real time and help guide our social media strategy</li><li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills</li><li>Ability to work independently</li><li>Ability to work a flexible and varied schedule&nbsp;</li><li>Reliable transportation to and from various locations across Long Island</li></ul><p><strong>Physical Requirements</strong></p><p>&bull; &nbsp; &nbsp;Must possess a driver&rsquo;s license in good standing and a means to travel to various locations throughout Long Island.</p><p><strong>Internship details</strong></p><ul><li>20 Weeks</li><li>$20 hourly rate</li><li>20 hours per week<span data-teams=\"true\" data-pasted=\"true\"><span style='font-family: -apple-system, BlinkMacSystemFont, \"Segoe UI\", system-ui, \"Apple Color Emoji\", \"Segoe UI Emoji\", \"Segoe UI Web\", sans-serif; font-size: 14px; white-space: pre-wrap;'> </span></span></li></ul><p style='margin-top:0in;margin-right:0in;margin-bottom:10.0pt;margin-left:0in;line-height:115%;font-size:15px;font-family:\"Calibri\",sans-serif;text-align:justify;' data-pasted=\"true\"><strong><span style='font-size:13px;line-height:115%;font-family:\"Century Gothic\",sans-serif;'>Newsday Media Group is an equal opportunity employer.
