Based in Solano County, with a focus on Vallejo, we specialize in Enhanced Care Management, employment and support services, and youth programs. Our work serves a wide-range of individuals, including youth and adults who are unhoused, at-risk, or justice-involved.</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt\">At 4th Second, we are committed to trauma-informed and harm reduction approaches, offering services such as street medicine, healthcare coordination, mental health counseling, youth substance use and suicide prevention, workforce development, and community-driven initiatives for food and housing sovereignty.</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt\">Our mission is simple: to meet people where they are, empower them with the care and resources they need, and support their journey toward holistic well-being.</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt; font-weight: bold; text-decoration: underline\">Overview of the Postiton </span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt\">4th Second’s Youth Team is committed to serving BIPOC populations in Solano County, people experiencing homelessness, people who have been justice impacted, and individuals with low incomes. We strive to remove socioeconomic barriers with youth substance use and suicide prevention, whole person workforce development, and community development to support self-sufficiency.</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt\">As a Youth Empowerment Intern you will primarily support 4th Second’s youth programming, youth leader projects, and fostering a welcoming culture that nurtures youth’s needs, individuality, and self-determined aspirations. We are excited to build a community alongside you and enjoy your contributions to the growth and vitality of 4th Second.</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt; font-weight: bold; text-decoration: underline\">Core Responsibilities</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt; font-weight: bold\">Youth Leader Projects:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt\">Understand and utilize project management plan to support youth leader projects</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt\">Conduct weekly check ins to define progress and hold Youth accountable</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt; font-weight: bold\">Support Youth Programming:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt\">Assist in preparing the space and materials needed for programming</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt\">Confidently explain the Youth Program to people inquiring </span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt; font-weight: bold\">Safety Measures:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt\">Ensure safety indoors and outdoors by identifying and addressing potential hazards</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt; font-weight: bold\">Driving &amp; Transportation:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt\">Complete pickups of plants, food boxes, tools, and materials to support programming and community events </span><br><br></li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt; font-weight: bold; text-decoration: underline\">Requited Qualfications: </span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt\">Strong interpersonal and communication skills in a team setting</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt\">Creativity in developing and implementing activities</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt\">Patience and understanding when working with youth in Peer to peer mentoring</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt\">Flexible scheduling and willingness to learn new things</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt\">Represent oneself and the organization in the community</span><br></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt; font-weight: bold; text-decoration: underline\">Preferred Qualifications: </span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt\">Proficiency in Google Suite, email, internet, and calendaring applications</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt\">Proficient in another language other than English</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt\">Confident in community engagement and outreach with youth and potential partners  </span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt; font-weight: bold; text-decoration: underline\">Physical Demands;</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt\">Lifting and moving up to 25 lbs including: food boxes, cleaning supplies, art materials, etc. </span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt\">Able to kneel, bend, and carry items on a regular basis</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt; font-weight: bold; text-decoration: underline\">Key Performance Indiciators </span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt\">Participate in performance evaluation by your direct supervisor</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt\">Able to support the completion of youth leader projects and achieve learning objectives associated with 4th Second’s mission. </span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt; font-weight: bold; text-decoration: underline\">Work Environment </span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt\">This position operates in public and private community spaces such as indoor youth centers and community gardens. The role may involve exposure to unsanitary conditions such as handling trash, food waste, restrooms. Navigating interactions with different personalities in public.
