The Graphic Design Intern supports various internal team members by designing and performing production-level design tasks while learning and applying basic design principles.</p><p>As a Creative team member, the Graphic Design Intern gains exposure to department projects and initiatives and learns from accomplished professionals in graphic design, digital design, and marketing communications.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Essential Functions</strong></p><p>To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities required.&nbsp;Reasonable&nbsp;accommodations&nbsp;may&nbsp;be&nbsp;made&nbsp;to&nbsp;enable&nbsp;individuals&nbsp;with&nbsp;disabilities&nbsp;to&nbsp;perform the essential functions.</p><ul><li>Learns how the Graphcom team maintains, translates, and extends the look and feel of digital and print-related marketing projects</li><li>Applies and contributes to Graphcom&rsquo;s goal of providing superior service to all organizations and people we meet, including customers, vendors, suppliers, co-workers, and the public</li><li>Works with other designers to develop, design, or create new ideas, relationships, systems, or products</li><li>Observes, receives, and otherwise obtains information from all relevant sources</li><li>Works closely with <strong>Art Director</strong> or other senior staff to organize, plan, and prioritize work by developing specific goals and plans&nbsp;</li><li>Consistently delivers high-quality services to all clients</li><li>Ensures user friendliness in digital projects, including web design, email, app design, etc.</li><li>Develops and implements design language</li><li>Works closely with <strong>Art Director</strong> or senior staff to manage resources within budget and project schedule</li><li>Conceptualizes and develops artwork following brand guidelines, including applying proper typography techniques, fonts, and layouts using design software</li><li>Researches, develops, presents, and executes photography campaign direction</li><li>Makes edits as requested by the client</li><li>Checks all work for spelling errors and has a second set of eyes review work before sending for client review</li><li>Provides write-ups to team members to sell design to the client</li><li>Maintains brand standards and upholds creative excellence&nbsp;</li><li>Personally accountable for the accuracy of all final art, including trim, bleed, crop marks, size, color setting, etc.</li><li>Annual review of job description</li><li>Maintains&nbsp;the&nbsp;highest&nbsp;level&nbsp;of&nbsp;security&nbsp;and&nbsp;confidentiality&nbsp;as&nbsp;defined&nbsp;by&nbsp;company&nbsp;policy</li><li>Other duties as assigned by the <strong>VP, Creative, Creative Director,&nbsp;</strong><strong>or President/CEO</strong></li></ul><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Minimum&nbsp;Job&nbsp;Requirements</strong></p><ul><li>Attendance at or graduation from a 4-year college with a degree in a related field and/or Associate&rsquo;s Degree in Graphic Design is preferred.&nbsp;</li><li>0-1 year of relevant design experience</li><li>Design ability and proficiency in software applications such as Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, and Microsoft Suite is required.&nbsp;</li><li>Web design and photography skills are a plus.&nbsp;</li><li>Strong sense of concept development</li><li>Excellent interpersonal skills</li><li>Self-starter willing to learn, develop, and polish the skills needed to succeed in a creative agency environment (problem-solving, presentation, project management, etc.)</li><li>In-person attendance required</li><li>Complete&nbsp;all&nbsp;required&nbsp;training&nbsp;courses&nbsp;upon&nbsp;hire&nbsp;and&nbsp;annually&nbsp;thereafter</li><li>Maintain&nbsp;compliance&nbsp;with&nbsp;all&nbsp;company&nbsp;policies&nbsp;and&nbsp;procedures</li></ul><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Working&nbsp;Conditions</strong></p><p>The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
