    "description": "<h2>Overview</h2>\n<p>The Cultural Monitor III collaborates with archaeologists, specialists, and developers to observe ground-disturbing activities on federal, state, and local development and infrastructure projects—preserving cultural resources and spiritually significant sites by identifying, documenting, and protecting them during new development, land-use improvements, and archaeological surveys and testing.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Observes and monitors ground disturbance on construction projects for cultural material and/or Native American Human Remains.</li>\n <li>Expertly identifies Chumash material culture. </li>\n <li>Monitors and participates in archaeological field surveys, archaeological site testing excavation, and archaeological data recovery excavation.</li>\n <li>Effectively and professionally communicates with specialists, contractors, and developers.</li>\n <li>Updates and creates new ideas for the Worker’s Environmental Awareness Program (WEAP) training.</li>\n <li>Conducts WEAP presentation during tailgate or kick off meetings. </li>\n <li>Trains and teaches others to use ArcGIS Survey123, Apple Software, and the Apple iPad tablet. </li>\n <li>Participates in all phases of archaeological methods (Phase I, XP1, Phase 2 – Eligibility, and Phase 3 – Data Recovery).</li>\n <li>Attends scheduled cultural monitoring trainings, presentations, and events</li>\n <li>Upholds a work environment that promotes teamwork, partnership, recognition, mutual respect, and collaboration while role modeling the company values, behaviors, and culture of One.Team.Chumash.</li>\n <li>Performs other duties as assigned. </li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>High School Diploma or GED Certificate.</li>\n <li>Associate or bachelor’s degree in archaeology or anthropology, or related field or equivalent work experience.</li>\n <li>OSHA's 40-Hour Hazardous Waste and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) certified..</li>\n <li>Three years of experience as a Cultural Monitor.</li>\n <li>Valid Driver’s License and vehicle with valid registration and insurance.</li>\n <li>Must pass job related practical exam. </li>\n <li>Excellent understanding of archaeological field methods.Intermediate computer proficiency utilizing Apple applications and devices, Microsoft applications, email, and internet.</li>\n <li>Native American hiring preference applies.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Location</h2>100 Via Juana Drive\n<h2>Minimum Pay Rate</h2>$29.00 per hour\n<h2>Maximum Pay Rate</h2>$29.00 per hour",
