REQUIRED: IL PEL (Professional Educator's License) with LBS1 Special Education endorsement & must be proficient in reading, writing, and speaking both English and Spanish. 6340 S. New England Ave. Chicago, IL 60638 8:00am-3:30pm CT, Monday-Friday, following a school calendar Direct Hire with our school: Return school year after school year (no annual contract) Sign On Bonus for Special Education Teachers About Menta Academy Midway Menta Academy Midway promotes independence in students by creating a learning environment that fosters individualization and planning. The program provides support for English and non-English speaking children with disabilities by focusing on the whole child in their native language. Collaborative and data-based problem-solving approaches are utilized to develop appropriate interventions and progress monitoring. The classrooms integrate evidence-based strategies from the Structured Teaching Model developed by Division TEACCH, University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill. Physical structure, visual schedules, work systems, communication systems, and sensory supports are thoughtfully integrated to optimize student success. Midway serves students in grades K-12 and those transitioning from school to life ages 18-21. Disabilities served include autism, emotional disabilities, specific learning disabilities, intellectual disabilities, other health impairments, traumatic brain injury, and multiple disabilities.
