Lumber, steel, pipe, and containers arrive at the facility by truck or rail. We are looking for a Forklift Operator to safely and efficiently transfer these commodities to truck, rail or container for furtherance.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><em><em><strong><em>For more information, please visit Arrow Careers</em></strong></em></em></p>\n<p> </p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Operate high capacity forklifts (up to 25,000lbs)</li>\n <li>Loading and unloading lumber, steel and engineered wood products from trucks, railcars or containers</li>\n <li>Secure commodities on railcars using appropriate rigging, tie-downs, and safety procedures to prevent shifting during transit</li>\n <li>Work at heights while inspecting, loading, and securing freight, following all fall protection and safety regulations</li>\n <li>Support inventory control (inbound/outbound/on ground) and accurately document</li>\n <li>Ability to prepare load plans for railcar, truck and/or container</li>\n <li>Perform routine maintenance on vehicles and auxiliary equipment</li>\n <li>Assist with general yard clean up/maintenance</li>\n <li>Assist with cleaning of equipment, cutting steel banding for package securement, and monitoring disposal of items</li>\n <li>Inspect and verify product condition to ensure cleanliness and compliance with loading procedures</li>\n <li>Work in adherence to all safe work practices, procedures, as well as all regulatory requirements</li>\n <li>Suggest changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, department, or work crew</li>\n <li>May be asked to travel to other transload terminals to assist if necessary </li>\n <li>Other duties as instructed by supervisor</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<h2>You Possess</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Previous experience operating high capacity forklifts (25,000 lbs) is an asset</li>\n <li>Previous experience loading and unloading commodities from trucks or railcars is an asset\n  <ul>\n   <li>Preference will be given to those with lumber handling experience</li>\n  </ul></li>\n <li>Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 lbs regularly</li>\n <li>Ability to work outside in all weather conditions (snow, rain, sub-freezing temps, heat, wind)</li>\n <li>Comfortable working at heights exceeding 10 feet, using fall protection equipment</li>\n <li>A positive attitude  </li>\n <li>Solid interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse working environment</li>\n <li><strong>Embody Arrow's values: Safety, Integrity, Responsibility, Quality, Teamwork, and Fun!</strong></li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p>#IND</p>\n<p> </p>\n<h2></h2>\n<p></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Arrow has been recognized as a Top Fleet Employer of Distinction, a SmartWay Transport Partner, a BCTA Clean Carrier, a BC Hydro Clean Energy Champion and as a Carrier of Excellence in Women's Leadership.</p>",
