Description

Senior Software Engineer As a Senior Software Engineer you will work with a team of full-stack developers that work on all server-side aspects of smart home security. Our mandate is very broad and includes but not limited to processing security events, provisioning equipment, monitoring station signaling, testing-automation and integrating a wide and diverse set of devices with the Alarm.com connected ecosystem. Our software development includes working on backend services, websites, and database design that make-up our whole ecosystem. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will have the opportunities to work across a variety of technical areas. Typical projects will involve diverse technologies and skills, and require close collaboration with device engineers, business partners, and other engineering teams. Strong multi-tasking skills and the ability to self-learn are must-have attributes. Candidate must be able to communicate well within a team environment and work independently on self-directed tasks. Take part in the entire project life cycle, from requirements development to deployment with lots of cross-team collaboration. Engage in the research, evaluation, and application of new technologies and methodologies to solve challenging project goals. Exercise good judgment. Other duties as assigned WHAT DO YOU NEED? We are seeking someone who has: Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, a related field or equivalent work experience 5+ years of professional software development experience Experience leading and mentoring other engineers Strong object-oriented programming skills; C# a plus Experience with database design and development We would love if you have some of the below (but it is fine if you don’t): Experience with or strong understanding of firmware and electrical engineering Experience working with high-availability, high-throughput services Experience with external facing APIs and/or third-party platform integrations Familiarity with distributed event streaming platforms, such as Kafka Experience with JavaScript development using an established JS framework, such as Ember Please note that sponsorship of new applicants for employment authorization, or any other immigration-related support, is not available for this position at this time.
