We welcome candidates who can contribute to the excellence of our academic community.</p>\n<h2>Description</h2>\n<p>The Pak Research Group at Emory University is seeking a highly motivated Research Scientist for a temporary appointment focused on data analytics, scientific writing, and translational sleep research. This position is ideal for a recent PhD graduate or early-stage postdoctoral researcher seeking additional experience in high-impact publication development and NIH funded translational research.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>JOB DESCRIPTION:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Lead and support statistical analyses using large clinical and epidemiologic datasets.</li>\n <li>Contribute substantially to manuscript preparation, scientific writing, and publication development.</li>\n <li>Assist with preparation of abstracts, conference presentations, and grant-related materials.</li>\n <li>Conduct literature reviews and support interpretation of findings.</li>\n <li>Develops biochemical and cell-based assays, with the use of such assays to perform high throughput screening of small molecule libraries. </li>\n <li>Develops and executes lower throughput biochemical or cell-based assays for structural optimization of hit compounds. </li>\n <li>Hands-on bench scientist. Communicates with biomedical investigators and medicinal chemists. </li>\n <li>May supervise staff. </li>\n <li>Performs related responsibilities as required. </li>\n</ul>\n<p>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: </p>\n<ul>\n <li>Bachelor's degree and seven years of related experience or equivalent combination of experience, education and training. </li>\n <li>Strong technical background.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p>PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>PhD in public health, nursing, neuroscience, epidemiology, biostatistics, data science, or related field</li>\n <li>Recent PhD graduate or current/recent postdoctoral fellow</li>\n <li>Demonstrated first-author publication record in peer-reviewed scientific journals</li>\n <li>Experience with statistical programming and data analysis </li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>NOTE: This role will be granted the opportunity to work from home regularly but must be able to commute to Emory University on a flexible weekly schedule based upon business needs.  Schedule is based on agreed upon guidelines of department. This role requires residency in the state of GA.
