Staff MA functioning in a specialty role accountable for providing comprehensive, family-centered care to patients and families in the pediatric orthopedic Outpatient Department. Provides the highest possible level of comprehensive care to Outpatient Clinic patients and their families under the direction of the Manager, Clinical Coordinator, or RN.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Schedule:</strong> PRN, Friday's 1/2 Day, Saturday's All Day (in-person)</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Compensation range:</strong> The hired applicant's placement within the range is based on years of experience and departmental equity.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Performs all aspects of direct patient care according to current Outpatient Clinic \"Standards of Care.\"  Documents interventions per policy and lists plan consistently</li>\n <li>Obtains patient history and vital signs</li>\n <li>Prepares and maintains exam and treatment areas</li>\n <li>Obtains and graphs patient's weight, height, arm span, and head circumference according to Outpatient Clinic \"Growth Chart Graphing (Plotting)\"</li>\n <li>Lab work completed the same day ordered</li>\n <li>Assists with monitoring supplies and equipment with PCA/cast tech.  Maintains equipment and notifies supervisor/manager when new equipment is needed</li>\n <li>Applying non-corrective casts at physician's direction</li>\n <li>Safely removing casts, cleans patient, covers affected limb and instructs family on skin care</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Note: This is not an all inclusive list of this job's responsibilities. The incumbent may be required to perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned. </p>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>Required</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Associate Medical Assistant</li>\n <li>Basic Life Support (BLS)</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Preferred</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Certification by the American Association for Medical Assistants (AAMA)</li>\n <li>1 year experience as Medical Assistant</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>",
