We offer self-scheduling. Our mammography service is an ACR Comprehensive Breast Imaging Center, which represents our commitment to operating at the highest level of quality and safety. UAB St. Vincent’s Blount is the only hospital in Blount County and is designated as a Critical Access Hospital by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). </li>\n</ul>\n<h2>What You Will Do</h2>\n<p>Performs diagnostic procedures on patients using ultrasound waves to examine tissue and bodystructure, providing quality images for interpretation.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<ul>\n <li>Sets up and adjusts all equipment and manually maneuvers transducers to perform exams.</li>\n <li>Implements safety standards and performs appropriate quality control procedures.</li>\n <li>Performs routine and complex studies and assists in a variety of imaging procedures.</li>\n <li>Recognizes significant structures, artifacts, pathology and equipment limitations.</li>\n <li>Ensures equipment is properly functioning. Reports potential problems or equipment malfunction to appropriate personnel. Lock/tag out equipment if appropriate.</li>\n <li>Ensures prompt submission of high-quality of all images and documents sent to PACS (image quality, correct lead markers and patient data/history).</li>\n <li>Assists in maintaining a clean, and orderly department to include procedure rooms, storage areas, dressing rooms, film storage area and any other areas in department.</li>\n <li>Maintains compliance with regulatory agencies.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>What You Will Need</h2>\n<p><strong>Licensure / Certification / Registration:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Within 12-months of hire or transfer:</li>\n <ul>\n  <li>Registered as a Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) OR</li>\n  <li>Registered as a Registered Technologist (R.T.) with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) with Advanced certification in Sonography (R.T.(S</li>\n </ul>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>If at an Independent Diagnostic Testing Facility (IDTF) must have one of the following upon hire:</li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>\n  <ul>\n   <li>Registered as a Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) OR</li>\n   <li>Registered as a Registered Technologist (R.T.) with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) with Advanced certification in Sonography (R.T.(S</li>\n  </ul></li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Education</strong>:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>High school diploma or equivalent with 2 years of experience, or Associate's degree, or Technical degree required.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Additional Preferences</h2>\n<p>No additional preferences.</p>\n<h2>About UAB St. Vincent’s</h2>\n<p>UAB St. Vincent’s, a proud part of UAB Medicine, is a trusted provider of health care, serving Alabama for more than 125 years.
