    "description": "<p>We're looking for a Carpenter to join the team at The Conscious Builder! We are a private, non-union construction company based in Ottawa, specializing in high-performance residential projects. As a Carpenter you would be working<span> on residential energy retrofits, renovations, NetZero Homes, Passive Homes and Off-grid Homes. </span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Minimum 7 years field experience OR Red Seal required.</span></em></p>\n<p><em><br></em></p>\n<p>We are specifically looking for a licensed carpenter who is well rounded but especially strong in framing and rough carpentry.</p>\n<p><em><br></em></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Responsibilities/Duties:</span><br></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Demolition;</li>\n<li>Footing and ICF work;</li>\n<li>Framing;</li>\n<li>Window and door installation;</li>\n<li>Exterior siding of all kinds;</li>\n<li>Insulation work;</li>\n<li>Drywall work;</li>\n<li>Interior door and trim work;</li>\n<li>Flooring;</li>\n<li>Tile work;</li>\n<li>Cabinetry installation;</li>\n<li>Material take offs and ordering;</li>\n<li>Read and interpret construction plans;</li>\n<li>Teach apprentices when necessary;</li>\n<li>Submit any receipts in an organized manner to the office;</li>\n<li>Completion of Daily Work Logs;</li>\n<li>Site Safety;</li>\n<li>Quality control;</li>\n<li>Training of apprentices;</li>\n<li>Keeping team members and subs motivated on site;</li>\n<li>Working closely with the Site Supervisor;</li>\n<li>Working as a team with fellow employees and sub-trades; and</li>\n<li>Such other duties commensurate with the Employee’s role as may be assigned to the Employee by the Employer from time to time.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Required Skills/Abilities:</span><br></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Self sufficient</li>\n<li>Minimum 7yrs experience OR Red Seal</li>\n<li>Knowledge and experience in deconstruction, framing, window &amp; door installation, finishing, exterior siding of all kinds, insulation, drywall, interior trim and doors, flooring, tile and cabinetry installation</li>\n<li>Ability to read and interpret construction plans</li>\n<li>Building science knowledge</li>\n<li>Valid drivers license and vehicle</li>\n<li>Have own tools</li>\n<li>Willing to travel as needed for projects in and around the Ottawa area</li>\n<li>Ability to work well with others and mentor apprentices</li>\n<li>Proficient with technology</li>\n</ul>",
