    "description": "<h2>Overview</h2>\n<p>AMERICAN SYSTEMS is an employee-owned federal government contractor supporting national priority programs through our strategic solutions in the areas of Information Technology, Test & Evaluation, Program Mission Support, Engineering & Analysis, and Training.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p><strong>Position Description:</strong>The Data Engineer – Jr supports the design, development, and sustainment of data pipelines, data integration, and basic data infrastructure that enable analytics and AI/ML solutions for CD&I. This position focuses on ingesting, transforming, and preparing data from multiple USMC and DoD systems for use by analysts, data scientists, and operational stakeholders.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Responsibilities:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Assist in building and maintaining pipelines to move and transform data from source systems into analytic data stores.</li>\n <li>Implement basic data quality checks, validation routines, and data cleansing processes.</li>\n <li>Support the integration of structured and semi-structured data sources relevant to capability development and experimentation.</li>\n <li>Work with senior data engineers and analysts to understand data requirements and translate them into technical tasks.</li>\n <li>Contribute to the documentation of data flows, schemas, and data dictionaries.</li>\n <li>Implement basic data security and access controls in accordance with DoD/USMC policies and best practices.</li>\n <li>Troubleshoot data pipeline issues and support operations and maintenance activities.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>Required Qualifications:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Data Science, or related field.</li>\n <li>0–3 years of experience in data engineering, database development, or related technical role.</li>\n <li>Basic experience with SQL and at least one programming/scripting language (e.g., Python).</li>\n <li>Familiarity with relational databases and concepts such as tables, views, indices, and joins.</li>\n <li>Ability to work in a team environment and follow established engineering standards and practices.</li>\n <li>Active TS/SCI Clearance</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Desired Qualifications:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Experience supporting DoD/USMC or other Federal customers.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Pay Transparency Statement</h2>AMERICAN SYSTEMS is committed to pay transparency for our applicants and employee-owners. The salary range for this position is USD $110,000.00/Yr. - USD $125,000/Yr. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law.
