During this time, students learn, investigate, and explore while having fun, making lasting connections with peers, mentors, and instructors who share their passions and interests.   </span></span><span> </span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span><span>Essential Duties &amp; Responsibilities   </span></span></span><span> </span></p>\n<p><span><span>Teaching Assistants (TAs) play an essential role in supporting the academic and community experience of </span><span>Ed</span><span>c</span><span>onic</span><span> programs, </span><span>includ</span><span>ing The School of The New York Times</span><span> Summer Academy</span><span>, Vogue Summer School, Sotheby's Institute of Art</span><span> Summer Institute</span><span>, and WIRED</span><br><span>S</span><span>u</span><span>mmer</span><br><span>Academy</span><span>. They work closely with </span><span>F</span><span>aculty </span><span>C</span><span>oordinators, Lead Instructors, Instructors, a</span><span>nd the Academics Team to ensure that courses run smoothly, </span><span>that </span><span>stu</span><span>d</span><span>ents are engaged and suppor</span><span>ted</span><span>, </span><span>and</span><span> that the classroom experience refl</span><span>ects </span><span>Ed</span><span>c</span><span>onic</span><span>’</span><span>s</span><span> standards of academic rigor, inclusivity, </span><span>accessibility</span><br><span>and</span><span> ca</span><span>re</span><span>. </span><span> </span></span><span> </span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span><span>Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:   </span></span></span><span> </span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span><span>Support faculty in delivering high-quality, </span><span>rigorous</span><span> academic content for students across pre-college programs</span><span>. </span><span> </span></span><span> </span></li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span><span>Provide pedagogical </span><span>assistance</span><span> in the classroom, including </span><span>facilitating</span><span> small-group work, helping clarify readings, and guiding students through assignments and projects.</span></span><span> </span></li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span><span>Serve as a mentor and an approachable point of contact for </span><span>students</span><span>, fostering a welcome and supporting learning environment</span><span>.  </span></span><span> </span></li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span><span>Coordinate daily classroom </span><span>logistics</span><span>, including technology setup, whiteboards, and multimedia materials.</span></span><span> </span></li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span><span>Liaise with the Academics Team to </span><span>assist</span><span> with</span><span> guest speakers, site visits,</span><span> and </span><span>special e</span><span>vents</span><span>.</span></span><span> </span></li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span><span>Accompany students on site visits throughout New York City, ensuring a safe, and positive educational experience. </span></span><span> </span></li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span><span>Maintain familiarity with all instructional materials, </span><span>rubrics</span><span>, and learning</span><br><span>objectives</span><span> to better support student understanding.</span></span><span> </span></li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span><span>Assist</span><span> in monitoring student behavior and </span><span>communicate</span><span> relevant updates to program </span><span>leadership.</span></span><span> </span></li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span><span>Perform </span><span>additional</span><span> academic or administrative tasks as assigned by the Faculty Coordinator, Academics Team, and faculty. </span></span><span> </span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span><span>Knowledge &amp; Abilities   </span></span></span><span> </span></p>\n<p><span><span>To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty </span><span>satisfactorily</span><span>.
