PHYSIOLOGY LABORATORY TECHNICIAN
Division: KYCOM Department: Academic Affairs Experience: Entry-level
Job Code: IWSKYCOMPLBTCH Supervisor/Reports To: Dr. Guichun (Hannah) Han
Start Date: 8/25/2025
Conduct laboratory research and support experiments in vascular biology. Ideal for second-year medical students with prior lab experience and strong technical skills.
Responsibilities and Career Competencies:
Perform isometric tension study experiments, western blotting, co-immunoprecipitation, and knockdown of individual genes with siRNAs in cultured cells and vascular tissues – C, TW, P, CT, CTR, T
Advise and supervise first-year medical student laboratory fellows in conducting planned experiments – C, TW, P, CT, CTR, T
Competencies/Skills: Communication (C), Teamwork (TW), Professionalism (P), Career & Self Development (CSD), Critical Thinking (CT), Community Transformation (CTR), Leadership (L), Technology (T)
Education Requirements: Second-year medical student preferred. At least one year of laboratory research experience required.
Preferred Skills: Mastery of techniques such as isometric tension study, western blotting, co-immunoprecipitation, siRNA knockdown in cultured cells and vascular tissues.
Work Schedule: Varies depending on workload. Employment through June 30, 2025.
Work Conditions: Normal office environment.
Physical Demands: Keyboarding.
