Our Plum Benefits program gives you cost-free access to thousands of exclusive travel and entertainment discounts – it's like a VIP pass to fun.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>www.berkleyaspire.com</p>\n<p>#LI-Remote</p>\n<p> </p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p><strong>We're seeking a Business Development/Territory Underwriter </strong></p>\n<p><strong>covering CT, MA and RI!</strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>The E&S Business Development Underwriter can be located in CT, MA or RI and will work from remote to manage an assigned underwriting territory to achieve profitable growth, including underwriting new business, identifying new business opportunities and managing agency relationships.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>This role drives profitable growth across CT, MA and RI by underwriting new business, managing agency relationships, and identifying new opportunities.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Key Responsibilities:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li><strong>Agency Engagement</strong>: Build and strengthen agency relationships through education, outreach, and strategic collaboration.</li>\n <li><strong>Underwriting Excellence</strong>: Evaluate risks, set terms, and price policies within authority to meet profitability goals.</li>\n <li><strong>Performance Goals</strong>: Achieve targets for new business, rate changes, and underwriting quality.</li>\n <li><strong>Service Standards</strong>: Deliver timely quotes, endorsements, audits, and policy issuance with precision and consistency.</li>\n <li><strong>Risk Management</strong>: Review inspections, audits, and endorsements to ensure accurate coverage and premium adequacy.</li>\n <li><strong>Mentorship</strong>: Support and coach junior underwriters to build team capability.</li>\n <li><strong>Reinsurance Coordination</strong>: Assess facultative reinsurance needs and manage cession processes.</li>\n</ul>\n<p>#LI-Remote</p>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Bachelor’s degree and six plus years related insurance experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.</li>\n <li>Advanced professional insurance coursework (i.e., CPCU, ASLI, and AU) or completion of other insurance-related classes is preferred.</li>\n <li>Demonstrated success in commercial lines property casualty insurance businesses.</li>\n <li>Past experience working with independent agents is preferred.
