Description Housekeeper PRN/On Call Summary/Objective The primary objective of this position is to ensure that all internal and external areas of the facility are kept clean, sanitary, attractive, and safe. This is accomplished by daily cleaning of all Commons areas, scheduled cleanings of residents’ apartments, and 6 month cleanings of each apartment. The housekeeper also participates in our Rise and Shine program for residents, which include daily visits, laundry service and escorts within the facility. Essential Functions Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Ensure all areas of the facility are neat, clean and orderly, including common areas, restrooms, resident apartments in both Assisted Living and Independent Living, the Medical Office Building, and offices within Peace Village. Performs cleaning and miscellaneous services associated with the Rise and Shine program and/or Catered Living. Launders residents items as needed. Keeps utility and storage rooms in clean and orderly condition. Disinfects and sterilizes equipment and supplies, responds in a timely manner to clean up accidents and/or emergency situations. Sweeps all stairwells in building; sweeps, scrubs, waxes, and/or polishes floors. Cleans floors, washers and dryers in each laundry room of the building. Cleans elevators in the building, vacuums rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and draperies. Dusts furniture and equipment, polishes metalwork, washes walls and woodwork; high dusts hallways. Washes windows, door panels and sills. Empties wastebaskets, daily removes trash on each floor of the building. Adhere to IDPH, Assisted Living and OSHA guidelines and all other governing guides, protocols and practices. Ensures outstanding customer service in accordance with the mission of Peace Village. Qualifications Competencies Customer Service Teamwork orientation Time management Exhibits professional behavior E xhibits an understanding of chemicals and proper use. Supervisory Responsibility This position has no direct staff supervisor responsibilities. Work Environment This position operates in a professional office environment, common areas and home residences at Peace Village. This role routinely uses housekeeping cleaning equipment and supplies, as well as standard office equipment . Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to frequently walk, use hands, and reach with hands and arms, bend, kneel, and lift. The employee must frequently lift and/or move objects up to 20 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move objects up to 35 pounds. Position Type and Expected Hours of Work This is a PRN/On Call position. Days and hours of work vary during standard business operating hours. Evening and weekend work frequently may be required as job duties demand. Travel No travel required.
