    "requisitionDescription": "<div><div><p>POSITION SUMMARY<br><br>DEFINITION<br><br>Under general direction, and in accordance with the State of California Practice Nurse Act, plans, organizes, and supervises nursing staff; manages, reports on, and provides resources for direct patient care in major inpatient units and outpatient units as directed; and to perform related work as required.<br><br><br>CLASS CHARACTERISTICS<br><br>This class reports directly to a senior level hospital management staff member. Week-end rotation is required<br><br>POSITION QUALIFICATIONS<br><br>Education<br><br>Possession of Associate&rsquo;s Degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university.<br><br>Experience<br><br>Minimum 2 years as a Registered Nurse, preferably in an acute care setting. Adequate experience to demonstrate critical thinking with organizational skills in performing multiple tasks and priorities.<br><br>Licensure/Certification<br><br>Possession of a valid license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the<br>State of California.<br><br>BLS Certification<br><br>ACLS Certification<br><br>Chemo Certification, PALS, NRP, FHM (unit specific)<br><br><br><br><br><br><br>KNOWLEDGE &amp; ABILITIES<br><br><br>Knowledge of:<br><br>Nursing processes and its application to patient care.<br><br>Teaching, coaching and mentoring processes.<br><br>Licensure, accreditation and regulatory requirements.<br><br>Personnel scheduling, group dynamics, teambuilding and conflict management, problem solving and management techniques<br><br>Hospital established policies, quality assurance program, safety, environmental and infection control policies and procedures and Nursing Practice Act of the State of California.<br><br>Federal, State, and local laws and regulations governing professional aspects of nursing.<br><br>Abilities to:<br><br>Learn, follow, and direct compliance with policies and procedures and to develop and direct compliance with unit specific policies, procedures, and standards of care/practice.<br><br>Demonstrate a consistent disposition, able to be objective.<br><br>Participate in the evaluation process and demonstrate ability to identify behaviors<br><br>Complete and maintain reports and clinical records.<br><br>Monitor critical practice indicators.<br><br>Identify opportunities for improvement, and guide the implementation of action plan.<br><br>Set, communicate, and monitor performance standards and expectations.<br><br>Teach, coach and mentor skillfully.<br><br>Manage time effectively; make sound decisions using problem-solving skills.<br><br>Use productive group dynamics to achieve teamwork.<br><br>Establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external customers.<br><br>Keep abreast of developments in area of nursing specialization.<br><br>Communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing.<br><br>Manage emergency or crisis situations; required judgment/action which could result in undesirable patient outcomes.<br><br>AGE SPECIFIC COMPENTENCY<br><br>Maintains, demonstrates and is assessed on the knowledge and skills necessary to provide for the physical, psychosocial and cultural needs appropriate to the age of the patients served on his/her assigned unit.</p></div></div>\n",
