The automation team is an internal service provider supporting Continuous Improvement Initiatives, new product development, and Quality Improvement Programs. Automation efforts range from automated part handling of components to complex assemblies, fluid dispensing, cleaning, inspection, etc. The Senior Manufacturing Automation Engineer responsibilities include designing, building, testing and documenting automation equipment. </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>The Senior Factory Automation Engineer is recognized as an SME in automation solutions and tasked with solving the most complex and technically challenging issues/projects. If you’re passionate about innovation and thrive in a fast-paced environment, we’d love to hear from you. </p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Experience managing multiple complex projects simultaneously with minimal direction.</li>\n <li>Performs mechanical design using SolidWorks, software/controls engineering methods, theories and research techniques in the investigation and solution of technical problems.</li>\n <li>Develop databases to support data analytics for root cause analysis.</li>\n <li>Works with sites to design arrangement of machines within plant facilities to ensure most efficient and productive layout.</li>\n <li>Develops automation systems with the goal of decreasing cost by eliminating labor, increasing throughput, and improving product quality by minimizing human error.</li>\n <li>Delivers and/or manages projects assigned and works with other stakeholders to achieve desired results.</li>\n <li>Design and develop manufacturing procedures, tooling, and fixtures that result in sufficient capacity to meet customer demand while also promoting product quality, process efficiency, and operator safety.</li>\n <li>Evaluate process and design alternatives based on Design for Manufacturability principles.</li>\n <li>Generate and modify manufacturing process documentation and assuring that manufacturing processes and related documentation follow established policies and procedures per Resonetics established Quality Management System.</li>\n <li>Assist with equipment validations, as well as associated risk management activities (PFMEA/Risk Assessment).</li>\n <li>Selects process improvement techniques to solve technical problems and makes sound equipment and process recommendations.</li>\n <li>Designs and prepares engineering reports and communicates results to the technical and leadership audiences.</li>\n <li>Must be able to manage multiple parallel projects with varying scopes and deadlines from concept to production release.</li>\n <li>Create process documentation and training where applicable (Factory Automation Design Process, Automation, Setup, Preventive Maintenance etc.).</li>\n <li>Strong cultural agent, actively develop and influence technology capability and roadmap.</li>\n <li>Excellent customer service focus. Works with a sense of urgency.</li>\n <li>Good verbal and written communication skills.</li>\n <li>May act as a mentor to colleagues or may direct the work of other lower-level professionals.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Required Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>8+ years experience in automation of manufacturing processes.</li>\n <li>Design of automation cells.</li>\n <li>Proficient in SolidWorks (or equivalent) for tooling/fixture design. Well versed in GD&T and print generation.</li>\n <li>Working knowledge of design configuration management tools and flows.</li>\n <li>Strong communication skills, comfortable with leading and providing project status updates at both the team and senior leaderships levels.</li>\n <li>Experience working in a broader enterprise/cross-division business unit model preferred.</li>\n <li>(BS or MS) in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering, or other relevant STEM discipline. </li>\n <li>Ability to work in a highly matrixed and geographically diverse business environment.</li>\n <li>Strong organizational and follow-up skills, as well as attention to detail.</li>\n <li>Tireless work ethic and understanding of deadline management.</li>\n <li>Ability to leverage and/or engage others to accomplish projects.</li>\n <li>Strong analytical skills with the ability to process operational or technical data and translate the output into a business result or opportunity.</li>\n <li>Strong statistical analysis skills (process capability, equivalence studies, regression, ANOVA, DOE).</li>\n <li>Trained in formal problem-solving techniques (Cause & effect analysis, 5 Why’s, etc.).</li>\n <li>Effective interpersonal skills and adeptness in working with culturally diverse employee population.</li>\n <li>Ability to navigate ambiguity and negotiate alignment with stakeholders.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Preferred Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Advanced degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical, or other technical.</li>\n <li>Certification in Six Sigma Methodology, experienced practitioner of DMAIC principles.</li>\n <li>Project Management and Leadership skills.</li>\n <li>Experience with industrial lasers, interventional device design and manufacturing, device assembly.</li>\n <li>Experience working in a medical device or regulated environment.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Physical Demands</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Willingness and flexibility to travel as required.</li>\n <li>Travel: Primarily domestic and Costa Rica sites.</li>\n <li>Must be able obtain a passport and travel internationally as well as domestically.</li>\n <li>Must be able to bend and lift 50lbs.</li>\n <li>Expect to work with power tools and hand tools</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Compensation</h2>\n<p>The compensation for this role is competitive and will be based on experience and qualifications. The anticipated range is $88,000.00 - $124,000.00.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Our company policy is that we are unable to provide visa sponsorship.
