    "description": "<h2>Overview</h2>\n<p><strong>Join an amazing team that is consistently recognized for our achievements and culture, including our most recent Forbes award of being one of America's Best Midsize Employers for 2026!  </strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Position Summary:</strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>The Primary job function is to investigate, evaluate, negotiate, and settle vehicle mechanical repair claims under various coverage forms.</p>\n<h2>Geo-Salary Information</h2>\n<p><em><strong>An in-person interview may be required during the hiring process</strong></em></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>State specific pay scales for this role are as follows:</p>\n<p>$44,466 to $77,881 (NJ, NY, WA, HI, AK, MD, CT, RI, MA)</p>\n<p>$40,424 to $70,801 (NV, OR, AZ, CO, WY, TX, ND, MN, MO, IL, WI, FL, GA, MI, OH, VA, PA, DE, VT, NH, ME)</p>\n<p>$36,381 to $63,721 (UT, ID, MT, NM, SD, NE, KS, OK, IA, AR, LA, MS, AL, TN, KY, IN, SC, NC, WV)</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>In CA: Typical hiring range is $55,056.15 to $76,466.88</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>The expected base salary for this position will vary depending on a number of factors, including relevant experience, skills and location.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p><strong>Essential Job Functions:</strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<ul>\n <li>Reviews claims for other possible coverage as provided by vehicle manufacturers or parts and labor warranties provided by previous repairer.</li>\n <li>Provides claim payment authorizations based on the correct parts and labor amounts using the available data sources.</li>\n <li>Assigns third party inspectors to aid in investigating approximately 5% of claims taken on average.</li>\n <li>Provides customer service to callers with questions about filing a claim or to dispute claims.</li>\n <li>Responds to incoming calls from agents and policyholders.</li>\n <li>May provide direct quotes over the telephone. Interprets and communicates all guidelines effectively.</li>\n <li>May process quotes and send information to third party inspectors to aid investigation.</li>\n <li>Consistently handles and processes calls in a detailed and accurate manner.</li>\n <li>Consistently provides superior customer service.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>Education:</strong></p>\n<p>• High School diploma or equivalent required (may include specialized automotive repair vocational courses.)• Pertinent state adjuster licenses are required• A minimum of one Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certificate must be maintained<strong>Experience:</strong>• At least 6 months experience as a Claims Specialist Trainee through the in-house training program.• Or equivalent combination of education and/or experience• Experience to handle mechanical protection claims normally is acquired through auto technician experience and/or service department service writer experience.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<h2>About the Company</h2>\n<p><strong><em>Why choose a career at Mercury?</em></strong></p>\n<p>At Mercury, we have been guided by our purpose to help people reduce risk and overcome unexpected events for more than 60 years.
