Our top priority in recruitment and development of our next generation is to ensure we align ourselves with truly exceptional people who share these values.</p>\n<h2>What Will You Do?</h2>\n<p>As a member of Federated’s Compliance and Government Relations team, you will examine, research, and interpret laws, rules, and regulations regarding compliance issues related to insurance products, filings, and processing for all Federated lines of business, including life and individual disability and property casualty coverages.  You will provide legal advice regarding compliance, underwriting, and claims related legal issues. You will also be responsible for the facilitation of discovery in litigation.  This role requires an individual with strong communication and relationship-building skills, serving as a consultant offering strategies and recommendations in a fast paced, customer focused environment. </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>This is an in-office position that will work from our office in Owatonna, MN. Alternative work schedules available, though a work from home option is not available.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Key Responsibilities:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Provide legal research, advice, and counsel to all areas of the Company on compliance issues (i.e. policy language, privacy and records management, policyholder notifications, model audit rule, anti-money laundering, OFAC)</li>\n <li>Serve as a resource to business areas in interactions and negotiations with state insurance regulatory contacts on compliance matters. </li>\n <li>Oversee state law and insurance department regulations, advise and assist on state insurance department filings. </li>\n <li>Advise on, assist with, and maintain records of response to insurance department and policyholder complaints. </li>\n <li>Coordinate market conduct examinations for all product lines. Coordinate responses to data calls and other information requests from regulators. </li>\n <li>Conduct legal reviews and assist in the preparation of training materials, manuals, interpretations, bulletins, and policy forms, and endorsements. </li>\n <li>Conduct research on compliance requirements, advise clients and assist in leading compliance efforts on corporate wide issues. </li>\n <li>Engage as required on trade association and lobbying efforts for Federated. </li>\n</ul>\n<p>Minimum Qualifications:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Juris Doctor degree and actively licensed to practice law in the state of Minnesota.</li>\n <li>Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software. </li>\n <li>An unquestioned ability to retain confidential business and/or personnel information.</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Preferred Qualification: </p>\n<ul>\n <li>3-7 years’ experience as a licensed attorney, preferably in an insurance or compliance related field.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p>This opportunity offers a collegial, supportive work environment within a mutual insurance company. A Fortune 1000 company located in a small city in southern MN with a 10-minute commute from anywhere in town. Lower cost of living, great amenities and larger cities within an hour’s drive.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Pay range is $101,700 - $174,100.
