Swim Instructors create a safe and welcoming environment for participants while instructing and motivating students.&nbsp;</p><p><strong>ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: &nbsp;</strong></p><p>1. Instructs swimming lessons in accordance with YMCA training and curriculum.&nbsp;</p><p>2. Builds effective, authentic relationships with students and parents; helps them connect with each other and the YMCA. Encourages parent involvement and identifies potential volunteers.&nbsp;</p><p>3. Conveys information on aquatics programs and schedules and as appropriate refers students and parents to other programs.&nbsp;</p><p>4. Maintains records as required (i.e. attendance, progress reports, etc.).&nbsp;</p><p>5. Follows all YMCA policies, rules, regulations and procedure431s, including emergency and safety procedures. Completes incident and accident reports as necessary.&nbsp;</p><p>6. Organizes and puts away needed class equipment. Reports damaged equipment.&nbsp;</p><p>7. Trains and supervises Assistant Swim Instructors as assigned. &nbsp;</p><p>8. Actively participates in department and branch meetings and/or trainings. &nbsp;</p><p>9. At least 15 years of age &nbsp;</p><p>2. Must be able to demonstrate swim instructor skills in accordance with YMCA standards&nbsp;</p><p>3. Complete before first shift: CPR/AED &amp; First Aid training, if needed (provided by the YMCA); all required abuse prevention .</p><p>4. Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community and successful clearance of background check.</p><p id=\"isPasted\">5. Follow youth boundaries policies and abuse risk management training.&nbsp;</p><p>6.
