Orientation and ongoing education are provided.</p>\n<p>We are particularly interested in individuals with experience or expertise in one or more of the following areas:</p>\n<ul>\n<li>Human Resources and Labour Relations</li>\n<li>Financial management or accounting</li>\n<li>Legal expertise (Health, Employment, Corporate, or Governance)</li>\n<li>Long-Term Care Redevelopment/Construction Project Management</li>\n<li>Public Affairs and Marketing</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>Equally important is sound judgement, collaborative leadership, and a commitment to community service.  We are actively seeking individuals who live and/or work in North York and York Region.</p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><br></span><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Commitments:</span></span></p>\n<p>Board participation is a volunteer role. Directors are elected to a one-year term, with the opportunity for re-election.</p>\n<ul>\n<li>In-person meetings approximately every two months</li>\n<li>Occasional committee meetings</li>\n<li>Additional time for task related actionable items (generally no more than 3 hours per month)</li>\n<li>Support the organization’s fundraising initiatives.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">**No artificial intelligence or automated decision-making tools will be used in the screening or selection for this role.</span></p>",
