This role will support research, development, clinical, regulatory, business development, and executive leadership teams to maximize the value of the company&#39;s innovations and ensure freedom to operate across key therapeutic and technology platforms.</p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\">The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in biotechnology patents, intellectual property strategy, licensing, and transactions, with experience supporting innovative therapeutics, diagnostics, platform technologies, and related life sciences assets.</p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><strong>Essential Responsibilities:</strong></p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><strong>&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; Intellectual Property Strategy</strong></p><ul type=\"disc\"><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Develop and execute comprehensive global IP strategies aligned with corporate and product development objectives.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Manage and expand the company&#39;s patent portfolio, including invention harvesting, patent prosecution, portfolio optimization, and lifecycle management.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Advise leadership on patentability, freedom-to-operate analyses, patent validity, and competitive IP positioning.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Identify opportunities to strengthen and leverage intellectual property assets to support business growth and valuation.</li></ul><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><strong>&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</strong><strong>Patent Portfolio Management</strong></p><ul type=\"disc\"><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Collaborate closely with scientists, research leaders, and external patent counsel to prepare and prosecute patent applications worldwide.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Conduct invention disclosure reviews and evaluate patent filing opportunities.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Oversee responses to patent office actions and coordinate global prosecution strategies.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Monitor competitor patent activities and emerging industry trends.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Manage outside counsel and budgets.<strong>&nbsp;</strong></li></ul><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><strong>&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; Transactions and Business Development</strong></p><ul type=\"disc\"><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Support licensing, collaboration, co-development, M&amp;A, financing, and strategic partnership transactions.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Support IP due diligence related to investments, acquisitions, and partnering opportunities.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Draft, review, and negotiate intellectual property related commercial agreements.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Evaluate intellectual property risks and opportunities associated with corporate transactions.</li></ul><p style=\"margin-left:.25in;\"><strong>Litigation and Risk Management</strong></p><ul type=\"disc\"><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Manage IP disputes, oppositions, inter partes reviews, and other IP-related proceedings.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Coordinate with external litigation counsel when necessary.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Assess and mitigate risks related to infringement claims and competitive patent challenges.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Develop strategies to protect company innovations and maintain freedom to operate.</li></ul><p style=\"margin-left:.25in;\"><strong>&nbsp;</strong><strong>Cross-Functional Leadership</strong></p><ul type=\"disc\"><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Partner with R&amp;D, Clinical Development, Regulatory Affairs, Commercial, and Executive teams on intellectual property matters.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Educate internal stakeholders regarding IP best practices, invention disclosure processes, and confidentiality obligations.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Provide strategic counsel to senior leadership regarding intellectual property risks, opportunities, and portfolio value.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Other duties as defined.</li></ul><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\" data-pasted=\"true\"><strong>Essential Physical Characteristics:</strong></p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Reasonable accommodation(s) may be made to enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of a job, on a case-by-case basis.</p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><strong>Qualifications:</strong></p><ul type=\"disc\"><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Admission to at least one state bar in good standing.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Registration to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) strongly preferred.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Advanced degree (PhD preferred;
