Job Status: Full time Job Description: The Department of Kinesiology and Public Health (KPH) is now accepting applications for an open rank faculty position for the B.S. in Kinesiology program to begin in August 2026. Responsibilities: Provide instruction in Kinesiology on a variety of subjects in the traditional undergraduate program, academic advising, and mentorship of students in their faith and future careers. Expertise in movement sciences (e.g biomechanics, kinesiology, care and prevention of athletic injuries). Possibly provide instruction in the Public Health program that is aligned with expertise. Demonstrate excellent communication, accountability, and initiative, along with a strong Christian commitment and interest in the integration of faith with learning. Provide strategic leadership in the department (e.g., department chair, DPT development lead). Participate in course, curriculum, and program development, including contributing to the pursuit of program accreditation and strategic planning for graduate-level program growth. Work collaboratively with diverse colleagues, students, and community members. Participate in campus, university, and community service activities. Participate in student recruitment and retention activities. Qualifications: Seeking candidates who: Hold an earned doctoral degree (Ph.D., DPT, Ed.D., DHSc) in Kinesiology, Physical Therapy, Biomechanics or a similar area. A doctorate in Physical Therapy and PH.D is preferred. Maintain current certification/licensure in the area of expertise. Certified Strength Conditioning Specialist® (CSCS) through NSCA is highly desired. Articulate leadership experience that effectively inspires others and balances energy focused on current needs and future growth. Display commitment to high-quality instruction in an in-person or online student-centered environment. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Individuals must possess knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the essential function of the position, or be able to explain or demonstrate how the essential functions may be performed, with or without reasonable accommodations, using some other combination of skills and abilities The School of Science, Technology, and Health (SSTH) serves both graduate and undergraduate students. The undergraduate program of the SSTH is the largest among the eight schools that comprise Biola University. Our mission is to train professionals who are grounded in a Christian worldview, are intellectually and technically proficient and are prepared to provide clear moral leadership in their respective fields. Our school is committed to a biblical vision of unity where diverse believers work together as one body under the lordship of Christ. Candidates from diverse backgrounds, cultures and experiences are encouraged to apply. Biola is an evangelical Christian university in which faculty endorse a university statement of Christian faith and community values, and are committed to the integration of faith and learning.
