Description
Manages the Logistics and Critical Infrastructure program through comprehensive planning, training, assessments, and exercise and emergency response/safety programs.
Responsibilities
Coordinates with internal and external partners, including the FBI, DHS, FEMA, TDEM, and others, to conduct assessments and support homeland security and critical infrastructure preparedness efforts. Ensures the department is proactive and responsive to municipalities and partner agencies that request resources such as volunteers, equipment, information, and mission assignments. Conducts quarterly meetings for the Lifeline Program to coordinate efforts and strengthen collaboration among stakeholders. Supports the development and writing of plans, standard operating guidelines (SOGs), and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for resource requests and the tracking of equipment and personnel, in collaboration with internal and external partners. Participates in trainings and exercises to support overall preparedness Assists, conducts, and evaluates training and exercise events in the Active Attacker program. Maintains records of attendance, completion, exercises, and other administrative records for the Active Attacker program. Coordinates with Dallas County Sheriff, Fire Marshal, and other internal and external partners to provide training for Active Attacker program. Serves as a duty officer to ensure continuous support and operational readiness. Serves in the EOC (Emergency Operation Center) or designated location during times of disaster or emergency. Manages emergency management programs and projects, operations, planning, and infrastructure. Tracks budgets and funding related to assigned efforts to ensure proper documentation and program accountability. Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education, Experience and Training: Education and experience equivalent to a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Emergency Management, Planning, Business/Public Administration, or in a job-related field of study. Three (3) years of professional work-related experience in emergency management, public administration, emergency response, or in a job-related field, to include professional training experience. Special Requirements/Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Must maintain a good driving record and remain in compliance with Article II, Subdivision II of Chapter 90 of the Dallas County Code. Skill in the use of standard software applications. Ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing, and establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, departments and the general public. Must possess a valid Texas Driver’s License and good driving record. Will be required to provide a copy of 10-year driving history. This position requires completion of specific training and certification, which will be assigned at the discretion of the Chief. Must reside in or be willing to relocate to Dallas County. Physical/Environmental Requirements: Ability to stand, walk, sit, and move for extended periods of time. Work may involve exposure to various environments. The department operates 24/7. This position will be on call at all times.
