Vice President / Deputy General Counsel, Litigation & Intellectual Property (Remote) (914-SLS)

Our client, a high-growth pharmaceutical company in the compounding space, has exclusively retained Solutus Legal in its search for a Vice President/Deputy General Counsel of Litigation & Intellectual Property. Reporting directly to the General Counsel, this executive will serve as a key strategic advisor to senior leadership, overseeing all complex litigation and guiding the company’s broader risk management and IP enforcement strategy. This role is ideal for a business-minded, strategic litigator who thrives in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment and is passionate about leading teams, managing risk, and shaping the future of a dynamic company. The position may be performed remotely, with travel to Houston headquarters as needed. This is a rare opportunity for an accomplished commercial litigator with IP fluency to step into a visible leadership role at a fast-growing and innovative company. The VP/DGC will play a pivotal role in shaping the company’s litigation and IP strategy, managing a diverse and high-impact docket, and mentoring a talented team. The position offers a blend of strategic influence, executive visibility, and long-term growth potential within one of the most dynamic companies in the industry. The targeted base salary range for this position is $300,000 – $320,000, plus an annual target bonus and equity. Ref. #914-SLS Key Responsibilities Lead and manage the company’s full litigation portfolio, including commercial, antitrust, trade secret, breach of contract, IP, and consumer protection matters. Oversee strategy, budgeting, and outcomes for litigation handled internally and by outside counsel. Provide clear, strategic counsel to executives on litigation posture, dispute resolution, and risk mitigation across business lines. Serve as a strategic partner to the General Counsel on legal operations, innovation, and efficiency, including the integration of AI tools to enhance processes and outcomes. Lead, mentor, and develop the litigation and IP team, fostering a culture of collaboration and professional growth. Oversee the company’s IP protection strategy in coordination with the AGC of IP, providing guidance on trade secret, trademark, and copyright matters while the AGC manages day-to-day portfolio activities. Qualifications J.D. and active bar membership in at least one U.S. state. Proven track record managing high-stakes litigation and outside counsel. Broad commercial litigation experience, including antitrust, trade secret, and breach of contract matters, with working familiarity in IP litigation and protection (patent, copyright, trademark). Demonstrated leadership and team development experience. Exceptional judgment, communication skills, and business acumen.
