Description

Overview About the Role Develops and manages complex projects. Oversees the planning, development, implementation and support of hospital information systems. Supervises analyst/project staff. Develops testing strategies according to system build and downstream system requirements. Oversees and assists the hospital with the development of a training plan. Ensures that systems are implemented and functioning under the guidance of acceptable University policies and procedures and meet all regulatory requirements. Responsibilities What You’ll Do Develops and manages complex projects. Recommends resource planning and support needs to ensure successful project implementation. Oversees the design and development of application programs from analysis to implementation and assists with these duties as needed. Coordinates the installation of software and/or hardware. Works in concert with other HST/IS&T Departments pertaining to the planning and implementation of systems to ensure that HST/IS&T standards are met. Interacts with end users, vendors and other related participants to ensure proper testing, implementation and utilization of systems. Provides input to the formulation of departmental policies and procedures. Oversees the development and maintenance of policies and procedures related to implementing and supporting systems. Develops and manages program to deliver effective training to the user community and enhance proper system usage by users. Participates on specific committees. Leads and/or participates on project committees. Manages documentation and communication for problem determination and resolution. Ensures system compliance with all regulatory agencies as appropriate. Qualifications What You’ll Bring Required: Bachelor’s Degree with preference for Hospital Administration, a health-related discipline (Nursing, Pharmacy, etc.), Computer Science, Business Administration, Liberal Arts, Science, or related field. Five (5) years of experience in information systems with preference given to candidates within a hospital environment. Must complete certification on an Epic application specified by management within 6 months of training. Ability to develop and manage complex project work plans. Demonstrates interpersonal skills working in a service-oriented environment. Excellent oral and written skills. Capable of functioning in a team environment. Equivalent education experience and/or training may be substituted for the degree requirements. Additional relevant experience, systems or clinical work may be substituted for information systems experience Preferred: Prior Epic experience is highly desirable. Direct experience with electronic medical records is a plus.
