This position focuses on assessing individual student needs, developing personalized intervention plans, and delivering specialized reading instruction to help students achieve grade-level proficiency. The interventionist collaborates closely with classroom teachers, parents, and other educational professionals to monitor progress and adjust strategies as needed. By fostering a supportive and engaging learning environment, the role aims to build students&#39; confidence and motivation in reading. Ultimately, the Reading Interventionist contributes to closing achievement gaps and promoting long-term academic success for middle school students.</p><p><strong>Minimum Qualifications:</strong></p><ul><li>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in Education, Reading, Literacy, Special Education, or a related field.</li><li>Valid teaching certification or licensure appropriate for middle school education in the United States.</li><li>Demonstrated knowledge of reading development, assessment tools, and intervention strategies.</li><li>Experience working with middle school students in an educational setting.</li><li>Strong communication and collaboration skills.</li></ul><p><strong>Preferred Qualifications:</strong></p><ul><li>Master&rsquo;s degree in Reading, Literacy, Special Education, or a related discipline.</li><li>Certification as a Reading Specialist or equivalent credential.</li><li>Experience with Response to Intervention (RTI) frameworks and data-driven instruction.</li><li>Familiarity with diverse learning needs, including English Language Learners and students with disabilities.</li><li>Proficiency in using educational technology and literacy software to support instruction.</li></ul><p><strong>Responsibilities:</strong></p><ul><li>Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify students&#39; reading strengths and areas for improvement.</li><li>Develop and implement individualized reading intervention plans based on assessment data and best practices.</li><li>Provide small group and one-on-one instruction tailored to students&#39; specific literacy needs.</li><li>Collaborate with classroom teachers to integrate intervention strategies and support general education curriculum.</li><li>Monitor student progress regularly and adjust instructional approaches to maximize effectiveness.</li><li>Communicate with parents and guardians regarding student progress and strategies to support reading development at home.</li><li>Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with research-based reading interventions and instructional techniques.</li><li>Maintain accurate records of student assessments, interventions, and outcomes.</li></ul><p><strong>Skills:</strong></p><p>The Reading Interventionist utilizes assessment and diagnostic skills daily to identify students&#39; reading challenges and strengths, enabling the creation of effective, individualized intervention plans. Collaboration and communication skills are employed regularly to work effectively with teachers, parents, and other stakeholders, ensuring a cohesive support system for students.
