In this role, you will lead the design and technical delivery of water and wastewater infrastructure projects for municipal and private-sector clients. Projects may include water distribution systems, storage facilities, booster pump stations, wastewater collection systems, pump stations, and treatment facilities.
This position is ideal for a licensed Professional Engineer with 8+ years of experience who is ready to take on greater technical leadership responsibilities while supporting project management and mentoring junior staff. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, perform engineering analysis, develop design documents, and support projects through planning, design, and construction phases.

You will coordinate with project managers, engineers, and clients to ensure projects are designed efficiently and meet regulatory requirements and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead engineering design activities related to water and wastewater infrastructure and site development projects. Perform site and utility design using Civil 3D and/or Carlson Civil Suite within the AutoCAD platform. Perform hydrologic and hydraulic calculations, technical analyses, and supporting documentation. Prepare and review engineering drawings, plans, specifications, cost estimates, and contract documents. Assist with the preparation of engineering reports, studies, and system evaluations. Coordinate with project managers and design teams to develop detailed construction documents. Participate in field visits and site evaluations during design and construction phases. Support the development of professional services proposals and technical submissions. Research and apply local, state, and federal regulatory requirements related to project design. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and provide technical guidance to junior staff as needed. Provide technical mentorship and design guidance to junior engineers and designers.
What You’ll Bring:
Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering. Professional Engineer (PE) license in Kentucky required; ability to obtain licensure in additional states preferred. 8+ years of experience in water/wastewater, municipal infrastructure, or site development engineering. Experience with water distribution, wastewater collection, pump stations, and treatment infrastructure. Experience working with municipal, state, or federal clients preferred. Proficiency with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Carlson Civil Suite, and/or MicroStation. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within project teams. Ability to manage multiple assignments in a fast-paced environment.
