This position is responsible for project management, technical leadership, staff supervision, client coordination, and business development activities. Any unsolicited resume received will be considered a gift and will not obligate us to pay any referral fee.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Provide structural design expertise and lead projects throughout DMV areas</li>\n <li>Oversee all design and inspection activity from structural project engineers, design engineers, and CADD technicians, as well as, coordinate design with other disciplines on a variety of structures and bridge related projects</li>\n <li>Lead in QA/QC for completeness and accuracy of design work in conformance with company and department standards and guidelines</li>\n <li>Maintain technical design knowledge and expand capabilities through attendance or membership with various engineering committees or organizations</li>\n <li>Responsible for project billing, budget management, scheduling, preparing scope and task proposals, technical writing, man-hour estimates, man-power projections, and client and sub-consultant management</li>\n <li>Serve as a liaison between clients and subconsultants through excellent verbal and written communication skills</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related field.</li>\n <li>Minimum of eight (8) years of structural engineering experience.</li>\n <li>Previous project management and staff supervision experience preferred.</li>\n <li>Active Professional Engineer (PE) license in DC, Maryland, or Virginia, or ability to obtain reciprocity.</li>\n <li>Completion of NHI 130055 Safety Inspection of In-Service Bridges or NHI 130053 Bridge Inspection Refresher Training preferred.</li>\n <li>Experience delivering bridge and transportation structure projects for DOTs, DPWs, municipalities, counties, or other public agencies.</li>\n <li>Strong knowledge of AASHTO design specifications and transportation structure design standards.</li>\n <li>Proficiency with structural analysis, design, and drafting software.</li>\n <li>Demonstrated expertise in steel and reinforced concrete design.</li>\n <li>Strong project management, budget management, and client management skills.</li>\n <li>Excellent technical writing, communication, and presentation abilities.</li>\n <li>Experience supporting business development and proposal efforts is highly desirable.</li>\n <li>Ability to lead teams, mentor staff, and build strong working relationships across all project stakeholders.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Benefits</h2>\n<p>M&J is a leader in providing quality engineering consulting services to a diverse and exciting client base.
