Description

Resident Support Specialist I Starting Pay: $18.75 an hour TMH’s Resident Support Specialist I provides support to residents within a supportive housing program. Resident Support Specialist I Responsibilities: Establish supportive and motivational relationships with residents; coach residents to utilize coping strategies and complete activities of daily living; assist in the completion of independent living skills; and provide rehabilitative skills training. Observe residents for changes in health symptoms; redirect maladaptive behaviors; perform behavioral management interventions; and de-escalate mental health crises. Perform delegated nursing services, including the administration of medications, as unlicensed personnel under the direction of the nursing staff. Promote participation in community activities; and provide support and prompts that encourage socialization. Support the cleanliness of common areas and complete housekeeping duties in resident apartments. Ensure residents and their guests are following site guidelines to ensure the facility is safe and secure. Collaborate with other staff members, consultants, interns and/or volunteers. Resident Support Specialist I Requirements: Experience supporting adults with mental illness and/or co-occurring disorders preferred Experience supporting adults experiencing long-term homelessness preferred. Ability to work a variety of shifts to ensure staff coverage preferred. Ability to work at multiple locations preferred. Other locations are in the Seward and Longfellow neighborhoods of Minneapolis.
