    "description": "<h2>Position Overview</h2>\n<ul>\n <li><strong>Department:</strong> Neonatal ICU, NICU</li>\n <li><strong>Schedule:</strong> Part Time</li>\n <li><strong>Work Location:</strong> UAB St. Vincent's Birmingham</li>\n <li><strong>Benefits for eligible positions only include:</strong> generous paid time off, paid parental leave, Associate Assistance Program, Tuition Reimbursement Program, and more </li>\n</ul>\n<p>The Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at UAB St. Vincent’s Birmingham is a 32-bed open bay unit where we provide advanced treatment for the smallest and most vulnerable patients with a range of infant complications, including prematurity, respiratory distress, neonatal sepsis, neonatal abstinence syndrome (NAS), and birth injuries. With a dedicated team of board-certified neonatologists and experienced neonatal nurse practitioners, we work closely with the UAB Women & Infants Center and Children’s of Alabama to deliver expert care. Nurses on this unit get a rewarding experience where they can offer empathy, parental education, and support in a compassionate environment for neonatal care.</p>\n<h2>What You Will Do</h2>\n<p>In collaboration with a physician, provides for the expansion of individualized primary healthcare servicesby diagnosing and treating certain acute or chronic health conditions.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<ul>\n <li>Obtains patient history and performs assessment via observation, interview and examination.Orders, performs and interprets diagnostic studies.</li>\n <li>Performs preventative health assessments, screening, immunizations and patient care.</li>\n <li>Provides direct treatment and management of health conditions via prescriptive authority or referral to other healthcare providers or community resources.</li>\n <li>Counsels and educates patients and their families/caregivers concerning preventative health,treatment options and community resources.</li>\n <li>Documents delivery of health care and nursing processes in accordance with specific specialty area standards and network nursing policy.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>What You Will Need</h2>\n<p><strong>Licenses / Certifications / Registrations</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required.
