    "description": "<h2>Overview</h2>\n<p>Murfreesboro Rehabilitation Hospital is hiring a <strong>Respiratory Therapist (Part-Time) </strong>to be a part of our <em>fast-paced</em> and dedicated, innovative team with a highly experienced, new Director of Rehab.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Schedule: </strong>~4 hours per day </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Specializing in neuro and ortho, our patients are referred by outside hospitals in surrounding areas to our in-patient setting. We offer occupational, physical, speech, and respiratory therapy, in addition to other services like IV therapy, wound care, and rehabilitation nursing.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Our goal is to improve the quality of life by treating patients who are recovering from injury, illness, traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, amputation, stroke or disabled patients through the therapeutic use of everyday activities.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Our rehabilitation hospital has a large therapy gym with state-of-the-art equipment and an \"activities of daily living area\" which includes a kitchen and laundry area. Patients receive focused care and comprehensive support they need throughout their journey to improved health.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Murfreesboro Rehabilitation Hospital is located within TrustPoint Hospital offering the only acute, hospital-based inpatient physical rehabilitation in Rutherford County.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p><strong>ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Assess the state of the patient’s lung health in a systematic and organized manner.</li>\n <li>Provide emergency care, such as artificial respiration or assistance with cardiopulmonary resuscitation.</li>\n <li>Read prescription, measure arterial blood gases and review patient information to assess patient condition.</li>\n <li>Monitor patient’s physiological responses to therapy such as vital signs, arterial blood gases or blood chemistry changes and consult with physician if adverse reactions occur.</li>\n <li>Set up and operate devices such as noninvasive mechanical ventilators, therapeutic gas administration apparatuses, environmental control systems or aerosol generators, following specified parameters of treatment.</li>\n <li>Evaluate status of interventions and patient goals for the purpose of reassessment, revision of plan of care and discharge planning.</li>\n <li>Delegate, supervise and/or collaborate with other members of the healthcare team in the delivery and documentation of safe and effective therapy.</li>\n <li>Record prognosis, treatment, response and progress in patient's chart or enters information into computer.</li>\n <li>Identify and document goals, anticipated progress and plans for reevaluation.</li>\n <li>Inspect, clean, test and maintain respiratory therapy equipment to ensure equipment is functioning safely and efficiently, order repairs when necessary.</li>\n <li>Instruct patient and family in treatment procedures to be continued at home.</li>\n <li>Demonstrate a positive, empathetic and professional attitude towards customers always.  When patient needs are not met, acknowledge and work to resolve complaints.
