This role supports and mentors other Maintenance Technicians, ensuring the efficient operation of machinery with minimal supervision.</p><p><strong>Responsibilities&nbsp;</strong></p><ul><li>Execute advanced maintenance and mechanical repair tasks on equipment.</li><li>Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues with PLCs, hydraulics, electrical systems, controls, pneumatics, and CNC/manual equipment.</li><li>Conduct thorough preventive maintenance to ensure optimal machinery performance.</li><li>Perform fabrication and welding tasks as needed.</li><li>Diagnose and troubleshoot specialized equipment, including ovens.</li><li>Read and interpret repair manuals for effective execution of repairs.</li><li>Adhere to and enforce company safety regulations, maintaining a safe working environment.</li><li>Collaborate with other departments to complete work orders and ensure project completion.</li><li>Prepare detailed maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data.</li><li>Document actions, irregularities, and communicate ongoing needs to maintain workflow continuity.</li><li>Train and mentor lower-tier mechanics in maintenance techniques and best practices.</li><li>Demonstrate initiative, independence, and attention to detail in all tasks.</li><li>Communicate issues and concerns clearly and respectfully through appropriate channels.</li></ul><p><strong>Qualifications</strong></p><ul><li>Expert proficiency in troubleshooting PLCs, hydraulics, electrical systems, controls, pneumatics, and CNC/manual equipment.</li><li>Skilled in welding and fabrication.</li><li>Extensive experience with diagnosing and troubleshooting ovens and other specialized equipment.</li><li>Ability to prepare, analyze, and present mechanical maintenance reports.</li><li>Proven experience coordinating and leading staff on maintenance projects.</li><li>Comprehensive understanding and proficiency with machine shop equipment.</li><li>Strong problem-solving skills and ability to efficiently troubleshoot complex machinery issues.</li><li>Demonstrated experience in training and mentoring junior mechanics.</li><li>Bilingual in Spanish a plus.</li></ul><p><strong>Education and/or Experience</strong></p><ul><li>High school diploma or equivalent; technical school certification or apprenticeship preferred.</li><li>Minimum of 5 years of proven experience in advanced maintenance and mechanical repair activities.</li><li>Previous experience in a leadership or mentoring role preferred.</li></ul><p><strong>Physical Demands</strong></p><p>The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
