The Bowery Mission meets essential needs and creates transformative community with men, women, children, and families in New York so that we can together overcome homelessness and poverty and flourish.  </span></p>\n<p><br><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-size: 10pt\">As a key member of the Operations team, the <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Maintenance Specialist </span>is responsible for assisting and performing all facility maintenance and repair needs. Coordinate, monitor, and provide daily Facilities operations to ensure buildings and grounds are in good working order to meet the needs of staff, clients, residents, and guests. Facilitate timely and quality maintenance/repair and improvements related to facilities, including but not limited to: HVAC, security/alarm systems, plumbing, electrical carpentry, furniture, appliances, and kitchen equipment. Work with campus staff, program directors and outside contractors to ensure good housekeeping and safety practices.</span></p>\n<p><br><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-size: 10pt\"><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:</span></span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-size: 10pt\">Perform plumbing, mechanical, electrical, and carpentry tasks to meet planned goals.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-size: 10pt\">As needed, serve as team lead on maintenance and housekeeping functions and train/mentor team on basic and more complex skills. </span></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-size: 10pt\">Provide vendor coordination with campus staff, including but not limited to advising on maintenance required and obtaining quotes for approval and scheduling. </span></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-size: 10pt\">Provide general support to supervisor as needed with special projects.</span><br></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-size: 10pt\">As needed, assist with monitoring invoices and billing processes, work-order tracking, and vendor follow-up and variety of reports.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-size: 10pt\">Maintain detailed list of equipment and ensure information is maintained in software (“In Check”).</span><br></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-size: 10pt\">Support fire safety. Must obtain FDNY certification as an F-04 Fire Guard. </span></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-size: 10pt\">Coordinate the process to keep all buildings complaint – facilitate monthly and annual inspections of emergency lighting, elevators, sprinkler system inspections, etc. </span></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-size: 10pt\">Communicate safety precautions to employees and others.
