    "description": "<h2>POSITION SUMMARY</h2>\n<p>Pay range: $43.29/hr - $63.21/hr</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>The Mammography Technologist works under the direction of the radiologists and the lead mammographer while proficiently performing a variety of mammographic procedures, including but not limited to special procedures and Dexa Scans. Works in Breast Health Clinic, Surgical Services, and on the Mobile Mammography Van as scheduled.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>KEY RESPONSIBILITIES </strong></p>\n<p>Performed majority of the time:</p>\n<p>·         Properly operates all departmental mammography equipment Dexa unit.</p>\n<p>·         Assists Radiologist in special procedures in mammography.</p>\n<p>·         Obtains patient history, pertinent information, and accurately charges exams daily.</p>\n<p>·         Provides care appropriate to the age of patients served adult and geriatric patients based on principles of growth and development and life stages.</p>\n<p>·         Performs QC and charts results accurately.  </p>\n<p>·         Performs intra-operative specimen imaging as assigned.</p>\n<p>·         Research and call for prior images.</p>\n<p>·         Maintains orderliness and cleanliness of technologist work areas and procedures rooms.</p>\n<p>·         Maintains adequate stock; restocks as needed.</p>\n<p>·         Maintains 15 hours of continuing education in mammography per MQSA.</p>\n<p>·         Performs special projects and other related duties as assigned. </p>\n<p>Performed occasionally but critical to successful performance of the job:</p>\n<p>·         Maintains a minimum of 20 mammography exams per month per MQSA.</p>\n<p>·         Assists in performing first aid as directed, when necessary.</p>\n<p>·         Attends and participates in departmental meetings.</p>\n<p>·         Attends and participates in community events.</p>\n<h2>JOB SPECIFICATIONS</h2>\n<p><strong>JOB SPECIFICATIONS</strong></p>\n<p><strong><u>Education:</u></strong></p>\n<p>Required</p>\n<p>·         N/A</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Preferred</p>\n<p>·         Graduated from an accredited program in medical radiography or radiologic sciences strongly preferred.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong><u>Experience:</u></strong></p>\n<p>Required</p>\n<p>·         N/A</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Preferred </p>\n<p>·         Previous hospital or radiologic clinic experience strongly preferred.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong><u>Licenses, Certifications and/or Registrations:</u></strong></p>\n<p>Required</p>\n<p>·         Oregon State License as a radiologic technologist.  </p>\n<p>·         Mammography certification through ARRT within 6 months of hire.</p>\n<p>·         Must have a valid driver’s license. </p>\n<p>·         American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS preferred upon hire, and required within 90 days of hire.  </p>\n<p>o   If not American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS certified upon hire, must have current BLS certification through another provider.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Preferred </p>\n<p>·         Bone Densitometry certification through ARRT or Certified Bone Densitometry Technologist (CBDT)</p>\n<p>·         Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) drive mobile mammography unit.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong><u>Job Related Skills, Abilities and Behaviors:</u></strong></p>\n<p>Required</p>\n<p>·         Excellent customer service and effective communication skills.</p>\n<p>·         Must have demonstrated skills in caring for the adult and geriatric patients.</p>\n<p>·         Shows ability to develop skills in use of computerized information/ordering system.</p>\n<p>·         Uses proper radiation safety protection of patients and personnel.</p>\n<p>·         Practices sterile techniques and follows proper procedures for blood and body fluid precautions.</p>\n<p>·         Effectively utilizes PACS system.</p>\n<p>·         Follows procedures for use of personal protective equipment, infection control, and disposal of hazardous waste and sharps.</p>\n<p>·         Demonstrates confidentiality according to PHI regarding patient and co-worker information.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Preferred</p>\n<p>·         Bilingual skills a plus.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong><u>Other:</u></strong></p>\n<p>Required</p>\n<p>·         NA</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Preferred </p>\n<p>·         May occasionally drive an organization-owned vehicle as part of their job and is considered a Commercial Driver’s License. </p>\n<p>·         Must have a satisfactory driving record which is defined as </p>\n<p>o   No more than two (2) accidents and one (1) moving violation or </p>\n<p>o   Two (2) moving violations and one (1) accident or </p>\n<p>o   Three (3) moving violations and no accidents on or off the job within the past 36 months, and </p>\n<p>o   No conviction for driving under the influence of intoxicants (DUI, suspended, auto felony convictions, or other serious violations) within the past 36 months. </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p> </p>\n<h2>Additional Posting Information</h2>Hillsboro Medical Center believes in providing equal employment opportunities for all qualified individuals.
