Our services include medical and dental care, health promotion, illness prevention and outreach programming. Our team consists of Family Physicians, Nurse Practitioners, Registered Nurses, Social Workers, Dietitians, Chiropodists, Pharmacists, Psychiatrists, Health Promoters, Community Health Workers, Administrative Staff and Volunteers.</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\"> </span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">We invite you to consider this opportunity to join our team and contribute to this important work.</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\"> </span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">The Health Centre is currently recruiting for the following position:</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-weight: bold\">Job Title: Nurse Practitioner - Refugee Health </span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-weight: bold\">Full Time, Permanent - 1.0 FTE – 37.5 hours per week   </span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-weight: bold\">Salary: $117,923.72 - $138,547.50 per annum</span></p>\n<p><br><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-weight: bold\">Benefit package</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">3 weeks paid vacation to start; 4 weeks vacation after 1 year</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Comprehensive Health Benefits</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Employee &amp; Family Assistance Program</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Paid Public Holidays &amp; Sick Leave</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Defined Benefit Pension Plan (HOOPP)</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-weight: bold\">Job Summary</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">The Refugee Health Nurse Practitioner role emphasizes comprehensive primary care, health promotion and disease prevention throughout the life span; focusing on our refugee and newcomer patients.  As a member of our skilled, committed team, you will practice in a multifaceted role that includes clinical practice, education and consultation.</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-weight: bold\">Responsibilities</span></p>\n<p><br><br></p>\n<ol>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Perform assessment, diagnosis, treatment, health education/counselling and other clinical activities in accordance with the College of Nurses of Ontario standards of practice for Registered Nurses in the Extended Class (NPs) and all relevant provincial legislation and regulations.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Work from a Social Determinants of Health perspective to improve health outcomes for individual clients and/or for the development of community health and well-being, and to reduce health inequities.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Provide comprehensive primary care services to individuals, families, and communities across the lifespan, with an emphasis on health promotion, patient education, and disease prevention.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Triage client needs either over phone, or in person &amp; maintain</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Maintain accurate and up to date clinical notes in accordance with NP’s professional standards and organizational policy.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Participate in the development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of health promotion/disease prevention programs for individuals and client populations as determined by the Health Centre.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Work during both regular and extended hours (evenings/weekends). font-weight: bold\">Qualifications</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<ol>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Completion of a recognized Primary Care Nurse Practitioner program.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Master’s degree in nursing; or equivalent recognized education and experience.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Current certification with the College of Nurses of Ontario-Extended Class and a member in good standing.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">2 years minimum experience as a Primary Care NP working with all ages in a community health setting.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Valid Ontario Drivers License.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Knowledge of the health delivery system, community and social services and the relevant legislation related to Nurse Practitioners in Ontario.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Proven experience working in a collaborative team environment;
