About Menlo Menlo Research is an Applied R&D lab building Asimov, an open-source humanoid robot platform, and the full software stack that powers it. Our mission is to make humanoid labor economically viable -- turning software into physical labor at scale. If you want your work to matter beyond a paper or a demo, this is the place. The Role This is a senior, full-ownership marketing role. You will build and lead the marketing function at Menlo from the ground up -- setting direction, building systems, and doing the work. Your remit covers Asimov and the Menlo Platform, across brand, content, demand generation, community, and go-to-market, with a primary focus on the Asian market: Singapore, Southeast Asia, Japan, South Korea, and Greater China. You will work directly with the founders, with real influence over how Menlo is positioned regionally and globally. This is a 0-to-1 role -- there is no playbook to inherit, no team to step into, and no legacy to maintain. You will define what marketing at Menlo looks like, then build it. What You'll Do Own Menlo's marketing strategy for Asia: brand presence, content, demand generation, community, and go-to-market across Asimov and the Menlo Platform Define positioning and messaging for technical and non-technical audiences across the region -- developers, enterprise buyers, research institutions, government and institutional partners, and the broader robotics and AI ecosystem Build and grow Menlo's regional presence across LinkedIn, X, YouTube, Discord, and developer and industry communities relevant to the Asian market Lead content production across formats -- written, video, short-form, long-form, technical and non-technical -- with an eye for what resonates in Asian contexts Drive demand generation and pipeline for commercial products in the region, owning the funnel from awareness to conversion Build and manage Menlo's developer and open-source community presence across Asimov in Asia Plan and execute events with regional relevance: developer meetups, conference presence, industry showcases, and partnership activations Set up and manage marketing tooling, automation, and reporting to make outreach and community management scalable Work cross-functionally with engineering, research, and sales to surface what is worth telling the world about -- and package it for regional audiences Identify and develop regional partnerships, media relationships, and ecosystem connections that extend Menlo's reach in Asia What We're Looking For 3 or more years in marketing at a B2B SaaS, deep tech, or technical product company, with at least one experience owning the marketing function end-to-end -- strategy, execution, and results Proven track record building marketing in Asian markets, with a strong understanding of the regional landscape across at least two of: Southeast Asia, Japan, South Korea, or Greater China Ability to navigate both English-language and regional-language marketing contexts, whether through direct execution or by knowing how to resource and direct localization well Demonstrated ability to define positioning and messaging for a technical product, not just run campaigns Proven track record of growing an audience, community, or pipeline from early stage -- not just maintaining what already exists Strong writing: you can produce a sharp LinkedIn post, a cold email, a technical explainer, and a brand narrative without needing multiple rounds of edits Comfortable with video: you have produced or closely directed video content before, whether short-form social or long-form technical Data-driven: you set goals, track them, and adjust when something is not working Comfortable operating at both the strategic and execution level, without needing someone to tell you which to prioritize at any given moment Nice to have Experience marketing developer tools, open-source products, or AI and robotics infrastructure Background in deep tech, hardware, or frontier technology companies in the region Experience building or managing developer relations or DevRel-adjacent programs Existing relationships with technology media, venture ecosystems, or research institutions in Asia Familiarity with regional community and developer platforms beyond the global defaults Why Join Menlo?
