A Machinist works within close tolerance requirements to create high quality parts, adhering to safety and quality standards.</p><p><u><strong>Salary:</strong></u></p><p>2nd Shift salary range $24.00 hourly to $28.00 hourly (plus $2.00/hour differential)</p><p>Will compensate with experience. Position is full-time.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Pay Types:</strong></p><p>Voluntary weekday and weekend overtime.</p><p>Saturday is paid at time and a half, Sundays are paid at double time!</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Job Type:</strong></p><p>Monday – Friday, 3:30 p.m. - 12:00 a.m.</p><p>Full-time (Union)</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Major Areas of Accountability:</strong></p><ul><li>Machine high quality parts within tolerance requirements using CNC and manual machines.</li><li>Setting up and layout parts, both manually and using your machine to check proper locations and work offsets</li><li>Read routing information to determine sequence and method of machining.</li><li>Layout work, partner with Mfg. Engineering related to set up, machining and tooling.</li><li>Performs preventative maintenance of machines and equipment.</li><li>Uses electric and pneumatic hand tools.</li><li>Deburr and hand clean parts.</li><li>Completes necessary QA/Customer documentation.</li><li>Maintains a clean work area.</li><li>Lift and move materials using forklift, pallet jack, overhead crane or jib crane.</li><li>Demonstrates a commitment to Continuous Improvement by identifying opportunities in day to day work.</li><li>Performs to ISO 9001 Quality Standards and abides to OSHA and EPA regulations.</li></ul><p><strong>Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:</strong></p><ul><li>2 year Machining degree or High School degree with a minimum of 3 years equivalent machining experience.</li><li>Ability to read design prints, understand geometric design &amp; tolerancing (GD&amp;T) and surface finish requirements.</li><li>Ability to operate CNC machinery, vertical turret lathes, boring mills, engine or turret lathes, radial or horizontal drilling machines, external/internal grinders, horizontal boring mills.</li><li>Have knowledge of CNC programming, ability to make basic edits as needed.</li><li>Ability to operate equipment such as key-seaters, broaches, band saws, sanding equipment, grinders post drills, hydraulic press and propane or oxy-acetylene heating equipment.</li><li>Understand carbide tooling, feeds and speeds for the machining application.</li><li>Ability to be certified in overhead and Jib crane operation and forklift operation.</li></ul><p><strong>Physical Requirements:</strong></p><ul><li>Routinely lifts and moves objects up to 50 lbs.</li><li>Routinely ascends/descends ladders and stairs.</li><li>Occasionally works at heights or on platforms.</li><li>Occasionally positions self in various works spaces, including low, tight or confined spaces.</li><li>Routinely remains in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods of time.</li><li>Routinely uses repetitive motions including the wrists, hands or fingers to operate machinery or tools.</li></ul><p><strong>Skills Matrix:</strong></p><p>This is a Union Shop. Skills and advancement within the department is documented via the Machining teams Skills Matrix.
