Description
We are looking to add new talent to our growing team! We are currently seeking an Assistant Project Manager, Geologist, to work in a technical support role with highly skilled professionals on diverse project teams in a dynamic environment. This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing group and company and get involved in a variety of projects for a diverse range of clients. This is a full-time position remote near Tampa, FL , linked to our Greenville, SC office. In this role, the selected candidate will support field work and assist with the management of site characterization and remediation projects for utility, real estate, industrial, and manufacturing clients. The candidate will oversee groundwater monitoring well installation, collect environmental samples, evaluate and interpret field and laboratory data, and support development of work plans and technical reports documenting assessment findings. This role will also include project proposal development, contracting support, task management, and coordination with project teams, subcontractors, and clients to help deliver quality work safely, on schedule, and within budget. DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES In this position, you will: Split time between completing technical tasks such as field assignments, reporting, and analysis with task management and project management support activities. Leverage understanding of technical scopes of work for assigned work and their alignment with overall project objectives to deliver quality assignments. Demonstrate and apply technical competence, knowledge of codes and regulations, and professional standards of practice to assigned tasks. Collaborate closely with project teams, field teams, and health and safety personnel to address client goals and objectives, ensuring technical accuracy, quality, budget, schedule, and safety requirements are met. Assist the project management team throughout the project lifecycle, including cost estimating, scheduling, subcontracting, resource allocation, project planning, task delegation, and financial management. Prepare and/or review written communications and technical deliverables. Engage in internal and external communications with clients, subcontractors, and vendors. Coach, mentor, and direct junior staff to ensure high-quality execution of project tasks, including field activities and preparation of technical reports and deliverables, while facilitating knowledge transfer for team development. Plan and manage site characterization programs and coordinate field investigations. Lead project teams with the interpretation, evaluation, and summarization of subsurface data with other multidisciplinary team members to assess the impact and implications to project goals. Plan all work in accordance with company and client health and safety protocols. Demonstrate the company’s foundational safety behaviors. Oversee groundwater monitoring well installation and environmental sample collection activities in support of site characterization and remediation projects. Support development of work plans and technical reports documenting assessment findings, data interpretation, and recommended next steps. Support project proposal development and contracting activities for utility, real estate, industrial, and manufacturing clients. SKILLS/EXPERIENCE Minimum Skills and Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Geology or related field. 6+ years of related experience. Professional registration or certification, as applicable. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Proficient computer literacy skills including use of the Microsoft Office 365 Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and SharePoint) and the ability to learn various software needed to support financial management, diverse project needs, and client requirements. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Familiarity with outputs from industry-specific geologic modeling software. Experience supporting site characterization and remediation projects, including groundwater monitoring well installation oversight, environmental sample collection, data evaluation, and interpretation. Preferred Skills: Master’s degree in Geology or related field. Some project management or task management experience is a plus. Expertise with industry-specific geologic modeling software. OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER training and refresher updates. Experience supporting remediation projects for utility, real estate, industrial, and manufacturing clients.
