    "description": "<h2>Position Overview</h2>\n<ul>\n <li><strong>Department</strong>: Respiratory</li>\n <li><strong>Schedule</strong>: Full Time Nights, 7p-7a, Every 3rd weekend</li>\n <li><strong>Work Location:</strong> UAB St. Vincent's East</li>\n <li><strong>Benefits for eligible positions only include</strong>: generous paid time off, paid parental leave, Associate Assistance Program, Tuition Reimbursement Program, and more </li>\n</ul>\n<h2>What You Will Do</h2>\n<p>Provide evaluation of and care for patients with respiratory insufficiencies.</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Assess patient for appropriate type and frequency of treatment and develops a plan of care based on diagnosis.</li>\n <li>Implement and monitor patient care plan and equipment. Monitor, record and communicate patient condition. Perform advanced respiratory care modalities.</li>\n <li>Evaluate respiratory practice, administration of medications, and treatment based on patient outcomes.</li>\n <li>Educate the patient and family about the health condition and provide information about community support groups and other available programs.</li>\n <li>Assist with care, calibration and maintenance of all equipment. Participate in maintaining departmental inventory levels for supplies and equipment. Processe equipment per established cleaning/sterilization procedures.</li>\n <li>Respond to emergency resuscitation team calls</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>What You Will Need</h2>\n<p>Licensure / Certification / Registration:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.</li>\n <li>Licensed Respiratory Therapist credentialed from the Alabama Board of Respiratory Therapy obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.</li>\n <li>Certified Respiratory Therapist credentialed from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Education:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Graduate from an accredited School of Respiratory Therapy.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Additional Preferences</h2>\n<p>No additional preferences.</p>\n<h2>About UAB St. Vincent’s</h2>\n<p>UAB St. Vincent’s, a proud part of UAB Medicine, is a trusted provider of health care, serving Alabama for more than 125 years.
