    "description": "<h2>Overview</h2>\n<p><strong>The Opportunity</strong>  </p>\n<p>The Corporate Counsel will serve as the primary point of contact for all contractual issues associated with a multimillion-dollar projects, working directly with the General Counsel and the Project Executives. This role is integral to ensuring contractual compliance, risk mitigation, and effective legal support for project operations.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Location</strong></p>\n<p>You will work at our enterprise headquarters in Detroit, MI with frequent travel to projects as required.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p><strong>Your key responsibilities</strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<ul>\n <li>Interpret and advise project team on contract provisions and obligations</li>\n <li>Within established time frames, draft and issue formal notices to: </li>\n <ul>\n  <li>Owner</li>\n  <li>Subcontractors</li>\n  <li>Insurance companies</li>\n </ul>\n <li>Collaborate with the Risk Mitigation team to address: </li>\n <ul>\n  <li>OCIP (Owner Controlled Insurance Program)</li>\n  <li>SDI (Subcontractor Default Insurance)</li>\n  <li>Other insurance obligations</li>\n </ul>\n <li>Review and draft riders to standard subcontracts</li>\n <li>Support the project team with: </li>\n <ul>\n  <li>Change order requirements</li>\n  <li>Change management processes</li>\n </ul>\n <li>Ensure timely submission of all contractual documentation</li>\n <li>Provide training and guidance to the operations team on contractual requirements</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>To qualify for the role, you must have  </strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Juris Doctor (JD) </li>\n <li>1-5 years of experience in construction law, contract interpretation, and risk management</li>\n <li>Understanding of insurance programs (OCIP, SDI)</li>\n <li>Excellent written communication and collaboration skills</li>\n <li>Willing to work onsite at the project site and at our Headquarters </li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Ideally, you’ll also have</strong> </p>\n<ul>\n <li>Proficiency with internal business software and databases, including SharePoint and CMIC</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>EEO/AA Employer M/F/D/V</h2>\n<p>Walbridge is an equal opportunity employer with a culture that promotes diversity in the workforce.
