Description Northern Pines Mental Health Center is proud to offer competitive wages and an exceptional benefits package! We are seeking a Behavioral Health Practitioner to join our Crisis Stabilization team. Travel throughout the six-county region will be required. The purpose of this role is to provide follow up support and services after a mental health crisis experience. Essential Functions include: Promptly provide crisis interventions, face-to-face, short-term, intensive mental health services provided during a mental health crisis or emergency in order to help recipients: cope with stressors, identify and use available resources, avoid unnecessary hospitalization and loss of independent living, develop action plans, begin to return to his/her baseline level of functioning Develop culturally appropriate crisis intervention treatment plans with clients and update as necessary Refer clients to different/ additional mental health services Provide crisis stabilization services: mental health services, provided after crisis intervention, to help the recipient return his/her functioning to the level it was before the crisis by: considering the crisis assessment and intervention treatment plan, consider the need for further assessment and referrals, update the crisis stabilization treatment plan, provide supportive counseling, conduct skills training, collaborate with other service providers in the community, provide education regarding mental illness support to the recipient’s people network Consultation with mental health Professionals on duty Qualifications include: Travel is a requirement of the position; valid driver’s license and ability to operate a motor vehicle are required Must meet Mental Health Practitioner status per the State of Minnesota in at least one of the following ways: Holds a master's or other graduate degree in behavioral sciences or related fields. OR Has at least 2,000 hours (approximately one year working full-time) of work experience in the delivery of mental health services. OR Has completed at least 30 semester hours or 45 quarter hours of coursework in Behavioral Sciences or related fields AND has completed a practicum or internship that required direct interaction with adults or children served, and was focused on behavioral sciences or related fields. Compensation & Benefit s include: A wage of $25.00/ hour Health, Dental, Disability and Life insurance with other additional voluntary options for spousal life, short term disability, accident, hospital indemnity and critical illness plans Health Savings account with employer contribution 401K with employer match Generous paid time off (1st - 3rd year, full-time employees earn 19 days/152 hours per year. Increases with longevity!) Nine holidays observed per year as follows: New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, the day after Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve Day, Christmas Day and a Weather Float Day.
