    "description": "<h2>Overview</h2>\n<p><strong>Seeking: compassionate individuals looking to help make a difference!</strong></p>\n<p>If you are passionate about making a difference in someone’s life and want to work for an organization that appreciates and recognizes their employee’s success, we encourage you to apply today!</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Seeking a Part Time Facilities Aide</strong><strong> on our Elmira Corps Team</strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Our Part Time opportunities offer:</p>\n<p>·      Generous time off every year including 14 paid holidays, vacation time and sick time</p>\n<p>·      Employer funded Pension Plan (company contributions begin after 1 year of continuous employment)</p>\n<p>·      Tax Deferred Annuity (403B)</p>\n<p>·      Eligibility for supplemental insurance plans including Short Term Disability, AFLAC, and Voluntary Term Life</p>\n<p>·      Christmas Bonus</p>\n<p>·      Wireless discount for Verizon customers</p>\n<p>·      Free parking</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>SCOPE AND PURPOSE OF POSITION:</strong>Responsible for the general upkeep, cleaning, and maintenance of buildings and grounds of all Salvation Army Properties.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p><strong>ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:</strong>Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>• Assist with minor repairs to roofs, windows, doors, floors, woodwork, drywall, or other parts ofbuilding structures.• Sand and paint building surfaces as needed.• Clean interior surfaces of building, including floors, walls, windows, doors, and other fixtures asneeded, using appropriate cleaning solutions and materials.• Make adjustments or minor repairs to heating, cooling, ventilating, plumbing, or electricalsystems• Replace building fixtures (ceiling tiles, lightbulbs, locks, etc.)• Move heavy furniture, equipment, or supplies either manually or using hand trucks.• Mow lawn with mower, trim outdoor greenery using hand or power trimmers, and clear debrisfrom building grounds.• Remove snow from sidewalks, driveways or parking areas using snowplows, snow blowers, snowshovels, or snow melting chemicals.• Set up, arrange, or remove tables, chairs, ladders, etc. to prepare facilities for events.• Maintain safety procedures when completing all tasks. Wear Personal Protective Equipmentwhen necessary.• Other duties as assigned by the facilities department, Manager of Facilities• Demonstrate cultural competence, as well as integrate understanding into daily responsibilitiesand participate in meeting the objectives of The Salvation Army, Syracuse Area ServicesStrategic Plan.</p>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>SPECIAL SKILLS, CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:</strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>• High School Diploma/GED preferred• One year related experience required• Ability to utilize commercial cleaning equipment, and small power and hand tools• Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing• Knowledge of mathematics, specifically weights and measures• Valid driver’s license that meets The Salvation Army insurance requirements is preferred</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>We are an equal opportunity employer.
