Background: World Hope International (WHI) is a global Christian relief and development organization operating in 5 countries, including an affiliate World Hope entity in Canada. J o b Purpose: WHI seeks a highly motivated and experienced Director to lead its operations currently located in Liberia and Sierra Leone. The West Africa Regional Director will be pivotal in overseeing WHI's ongoing regional strategic direction. They will provide leadership to the regional team, manage relationships with key stakeholders, and ensure that WHI's programs are aligned with the organization's mission and values. WHI implements water, health, and protection programs, focusing on empowering vulnerable children, families, and communities. Essential Functions: Provide strategic leadership and management of WHI's programs in West Africa, ensuring alignment with the organization's mission, vision, and strategic plan. Provide day-to-day leadership, managerial direction, financial oversight, and administrative support for the work of WHI West Africa’s programs and leadership team. Manage a national and international staff team, providing coaching, mentoring, performance management, and continuing education opportunities. Establish streamlined and shared programming and support services across countries to promote efficiency and accountability. Ensure consistent and timely program and financial reporting and adequate risk management. Oversee the successful participation of all WHI volunteers and interns in the work of WHI. Build strong relationships with government officials, donors, implementing partners, and community leaders. Manage and develop relationships with partner organizations, including The Wesleyan Church, other local churches, community and faith-based organizations, NGOs, and national governments. Collaborate with the WHI Advancement, Business Development, and Global Leadership teams to grow funds for projects enhancing WHI’s mission and vision and prepare accurate reports as needed. Establish a competitive and digital M&E framework for the region. Represent WHI at national and international events and forums. Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and WHI policies and procedures. Manage WHI's resources effectively and efficiently. Serve as a spokesperson for WHI in West Africa. Build and maintain an office culture built around dignity, acceptance, and respect.   Minimum Requirements A minimum of 10 years of relevant humanitarian and development INGO experience is required, with progressive management experience. Master's degree in international development, public health, social work, or a related field preferred. Strong understanding of water, health, and protection issues in Sierra Leone and Liberia.  Proven track record of success in managing and implementing complex development programs.  Proven ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, complex, decentralized,     and geographically diverse organizational culture. Fluency in English and at least one other relevant language, such as French or Krio. Strong communication skills, oral and written. Strong interpersonal skills and experience working on a multicultural team. Proficient computer skills, especially in Microsoft Suite applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel,   SharePoint). Flexibility to travel. Commitment to the mission, vision, and values of WHI. Supportive of the Wesleyan-Arminian heritage of WHI and its church-related network. Demonstrate belief in the Apostle’s Creed. W o r k ing Environment / Conditions: Standard office environment. Domestic and international travel required.
