As an OSUP employee, you will be eligible for these various benefits depending on your employment status.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p>Purpose: Provides high quality, accurate and compassionate care to a diverse patient population. An Ophthalmic Technician displays high proficiency in taking patient histories and is highly organized to fully prepare the patient for the physician appointment.</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Interacts professionally and compassionately with patients daily. </li>\n <li>Performs diagnostic Visual Field Testing: Humphrey, Octopus and Goldman Fields. </li>\n <li>Clinical Competence of Ophthalmic Imaging: OCT, HRT, Pachymetry, Topography and IOL Master.  </li>\n <li>Enters information into Electronic Medical Record. </li>\n <li>Transports patients within the facility to additional departments. </li>\n <li>Assists with rooming patients. </li>\n <li>Stocks and disinfects examination rooms. </li>\n <li>Provides assistance to Physicians and Ophthalmic Technicians in the Ophthalmology clinic. </li>\n <li>Initiates patient’s exam and prepares patients for physician appointments. </li>\n <li>Documents medical history, symptoms, complaints, and medications. </li>\n <li>Performs related patient service when necessary and as requested. . </li>\n <li>Travel may be required to accommodate staffing levels at other clinical facilities. </li>\n <li>Performs diagnostic testing such as visual acuity eye exams, lensometry, keratometry, refractometry, and tonometry </li>\n <li>Obtains Ophthalmic Imaging: OCT, Topography, Pachymetry, Specular Microscopy, Manual A-Scans and IOL Master.  </li>\n <li>Instructs patients on proper eyecare.  </li>\n <li>Adhere to regulations regarding drug samples and drug sample logs.  </li>\n <li>Ensures medication and supply expiration dates are current.  </li>\n <li>Other duties or special projects as assigned.  </li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p> Requirements:  </p>\n<ul>\n <li><p>Possess a minimum of a HS Diploma or equivalent along with and meet the following criteria: </p>\n  <ul>\n   <li>Ophthalmic Assistant criteria AND, </li>\n  </ul>\n  <ul>\n   <li><p>One-year prior experience as an Ophthalmic Technician or Ophthalmic Assistant OR </p></li>\n  </ul>\n  <ul>\n   <li><p>Two years prior experience as a technician in an Optometry Clinic OR </p></li>\n  </ul>\n  <ul>\n   <li><p>Successful completion of OSUP’s Ophthalmic Personnel Training Program </p></li>\n  </ul>\n  <ul>\n   <li><p>COA Preferred </p></li>\n  </ul><p> </p></li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Pay Range</h2>USD $21.65 - USD $32.48 /Hr.",
