Description
Our Victoria, BC office has an opportunity for a Civil EIT to join our Water group and help to support and grow our Water business. You should be able to evaluate, select, specify, and engineer systems or products for a project. You will perform a variety of tasks which may include calculations, report writing, field work, coordination of simple tasks, and meeting attendance and recording. In general, your role will involve assisting more senior engineers/designers by performing the routine aspects of civil engineering assignments.

Your Key Responsibilities
Support for civil systems associated with municipal water and/or wastewater /drainage conveyance facilities.
Support multi-disciplinary municipal civil projects, related to new build and infrastructure renewal.
Undertake detailed studies and design tasks associated with water related projects including site civil, conveyance, and water resources projects.
Perform project administration, including coordination of and preparing reports, gathering information, drafting proposals, drafting correspondence, completing progress reports, and assisting in project management.
Writing reports, design briefs and technical memos.
Take responsibility for the quality of your written, technical and graphic work, and for completing work on time and on budget.
Coordinate design drawing and specification development.
Attend internal, client, and contactor meetings and document the meetings with minutes.
Contract Administration as required for a wide variety of construction projects.
Assist with site visits and field investigations as necessary.
Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications

Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
Ability to prioritize multiple tasks, responsibilities and projects and adjust to changing demands.
Ability to work in a team environment, taking initiative to help out where needed to balance team workloads.
Commitment to thrive in a proactive organization where client service is second to none.
A strong knowledge of municipal infrastructure design and construction will be considered an asset.
Previous experience working with municipalities will be considered an asset.
Working knowledge of contract documentation including MMCD and CCDC.
Working knowledge of blue and green infrastructure: ponds, wetlands, bioswales, raingardens, etc.
Working knowledge of various software for planning and design of facilities (AutoCAD, AutoCAD Civil 3D/Pipe Networks, ArcView GIS, PCSWMM) will be considered an asset.
Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, with a background in Civil Engineering (preferably in the water and wastewater discipline), from an accredited university. With a minimum of one year of related work experience; or an equivalent combination of education and related experience.
Registration with EGBC as a member in training, or eligible to register.
Valid class 5 driving license is required.
Related Co-op/Internship experience preferred.
Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.
Sponsorship for Canadian employment authorization is not available for this position.

Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.
