    "description": "<h2>The Opportunity</h2>\n<p><strong>We are seeking Civil Field Engineering/CEI Inspectors</strong><strong> for our Transportation-Construction Management team in Haywood and Henderson Counties, as well as the Bat Cave, NC area.</strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>As a Civil Field Engineering/CEI Inspector, you will monitor the contractor’s on-site construction activities and inspect materials to ensure compliance with plans, specifications, and other contract documents on road and bridge construction projects. To be successful in this position, you will possess strong communication skills and be a team player who is enthusiastic, motivated, honest, and dependable. </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Maintain detailed records of the contractor’s daily operations including manpower, equipment, construction methods, and events that affect the work</li>\n <ul>\n  <li>Monitor work zone traffic control plan and identify discrepancies and potential issues</li>\n  <li>Monitor the erosion control plan and identify discrepancies and potential issues</li>\n </ul>\n <li>Perform sampling and testing of component materials and completed work</li>\n <li>Verify the dimensions of prepared and completed work</li>\n <li>Inspect the construction work and conduct field tests</li>\n <li>Track/measure completed work quantities for payment</li>\n <li>Perform survey checks</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Qualifications:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Construction Engineering, Engineering Management, or a related field from an ABET-accredited university</li>\n <li>Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications</li>\n <li>Strong written and verbal communication skills</li>\n <li>Must have a Valid Driver's License with a good driving record</li>\n <li>Must obtain any required certifications and pass appropriate qualifications tests for the position in the specified time frames</li>\n <li>Ability to sit, stand, climb, bend, twist, or stoop frequently and for prolonged periods, under various outside conditions</li>\n <li>Ability to reach horizontally as well as vertically for required tasks</li>\n <li>Ability to use construction or inspection safety equipment, including fall protection</li>\n <li>Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and shake up to 20 pounds</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Preferred Qualifications:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Prior internship or related experience</li>\n <li>EIT Certification</li>\n <li>DOT Certifications</li>\n <li>OSHA 10 Certification</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Benefits for Full-Time Associates:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>9 paid holidays</li>\n <li>10 days of PTO</li>\n <li>10 days of Personal Leave</li>\n <li>Paid parental leave</li>\n <li>401K options with stock match & supplemental contributions</li>\n <li>Medical and Dental</li>\n <li>Click Here for Full Benefits Information</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong><em>An Equal Opportunity Employer.
