Overview Industrial Electrician (Maintenance) Location: Saskatoon, SK - BHP Jansen Employment Type: Full-Time About the Opportunity: Shermco Canada is looking for a driven, safety-focused Industrial Electrician (Maintenance) to join our Saskatchewan Electrical Services team on the BHP Jansen Project. If you’re energized by challenging work and take pride in delivering safe, high-quality results, we want to hear from you. Our Electrical Services team powers critical operations across a wide range of industrial sectors including Utilities, Mining, Oil & Gas, Technology, and more. We deliver electrical construction, maintenance, and specialized solutions that keep our clients running. Offering: 7/7 or 14/14 rotational shifts with 12-hour workdays (Overtime opportunities) Camp accommodations provided while on rotation RRSP company matching 3 weeks paid vacation to start plus 6% flexible paid time off Extensive training and career development, including technical and safety programs All PPE, FR/AF workwear, specialty tools, and annual boot allowance provided Shermco Social Club with events like golf, bowling, lunches, and BBQs to connect with the team Responsibilities Maintenance operations of electrical systems. Construct, alter, repair, and test all electrical components that are integral to the operations of industrial activities and electrical systems. Install new and maintain low, medium, and high voltage equipment. Work in industrial work settings and environments. Work around energized power and control equipment. Effectively instruct, mentor and coach electrical apprentices and team members to support safe and efficient job/task execution. Determine appropriate selection of materials. Determine appropriate application of installations and ensure Canadian Electrical Code compliance. Keep construction, maintenance, and quality documentation. Work safely in a fast-paced environment. Perform all duties to a level of competency, normally expected of a Journeyperson Electrician. Take part and engage in Shermco Proactive Safety Reporting and leading indicators. Engage in client field audit/inspection activities. Will be responsible to become familiar with, abide by, and to administer the Shermco Health, Personnel and Safety policies. Will adhere to Shermco’s Alcohol and Drug Policy as defined; and Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Red Seal Interprovincial Journeyman Certificate. Experience in maintenance of electrical systems considered an asset. Experience in industrial and/or commercial setting considered an asset. Industrial facility safe work qualifications/training considered asset. Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently. Must have a valid driver's license and able to maintain a clean abstract. Available for out-of-town work based on varying project requirements.
